Hi guys, I have a 12V .2A cooling fan that I removed from a computer and I want to add it to this tv whose mainboard was not working as the BGA chip under the heat sink was not making contact anymore. Do I need the fan pulling in air to the heat sink or pushing air out? Should I install it directly to the heat sink or on the back cover of tv? Then finally the fan has three wires how and where do I connect them? I appreciate you guys helping me.

Re: M43-C1 adding cooling fan
Did you try hooking up just the fan Black and Red wires to 12V power supply to see if it will spin?Never stop learning

Hook it up to the switched +12V so the fan should only come on when TV is turned on.Never stop learning

Re: M43-C1 adding cooling fan
Since the 12V is not switched on this board then you have to add a switched circuit that will be switched on when PS-ON signal is present.Never stop learning

Re: M43-C1 adding cooling fan
Your fan is made to run at 12V so does it run if you have only 5V supplied to it?
The pin is labeled as 5V/3.5V so is it really 5V or 3.5V for your board version?Last edited by budm; 12-29-2019, 04:53 PM.Never stop learning

Re: M43-C1 adding cooling fan
USB is only 5V.
You can look up spec sheet of the fan to see what the min Voltage for the fan to operate.
Is it too loud when running at 12V?Never stop learning

Re: M43-C1 adding cooling fan
I am sure that there is switched 12V for feeding the T-CON board, but adding the FAN to that switch may over load and also may introduce the electrical noise from the fan into the 12V for running the T-CON.Never stop learning
