it seems like the replacement strips could be brighter, you could try using one of your lenses from original strip on one of the new ones and see if that makes a difference, in case the lenses might be different enough to be the problem.

If the substitute lenses aren't a good match, they will not diffuse properly. Found this problem on a 42 LB set and trying a different seller. You can confirm by reinstalling an old strip if all the leds are working and the lenses are still attached.

        Thanks nomoresonys and neilc6.
Yes, did install one old working strip in the center along with new strips, no halo from the old but all new produce Halo. Did tried to use two old lenses on the new strips but wasn't a success. Tried to keep the .019 gap, no halo but instead a bright spot like if lenses had fallen. I guess it is hard to perfectly centre the lens over the LED and I don't see myself going through this 84 times. This morning got a hold of ShopJimmy, right now they just received new strips, they were BO and they do have black stand of hole instead of white, they assured me that no halo.

Re: LG 55LA6200 Back light strips

All of Aliexpress backlights/lenses of that type are like that, at least I haven't seen anything better.
For me the only solution that works perfectly is to use original backlights from TV with broken screen.
Also even originals get blue tint over time because of yellow LED coating cracking. So replacing single LEDs may not produce good results as the new LEDs will be whiter than the rest.
Next, LG backlights use both white and black glue. However the only ones with white glue have lenses falling off eventually.

Order the strips from ShopJimmy, I'll post back when they are installed.

I'm sure shopjimmy doesn't make their own strips, there must be a more economical alternative, if they can buy them from china or wherever then so can we, not a huge deal but they mark them up at least 100%. I don't know where exactly, havent looked into it at all but will if I run into this problem.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                  Assuming...

Grundig 40VLE7131BF led strips doesn't light up
                  by h4rdw4re
                  Hi guys,
I have one very old TV.
Main problem I have with this tv is that led strips won't light.
I measured voltage levels, and inverter input is 24V.
                  other voltages are also ok.
What I found is that removing and connecting again connector CN1 led strips lights for shorts time (but only once). When led strips lights up then light is uniformly spread on whole panel.
First I thought that led strips are dead, but I'm quite sure that problem is not strips related.
I don't know what voltage level is at output of inverter board (samsung SSL400_3E2A) and how...

RCA RLDED 4331B: 43 inch LED TV: Backlight issue
                  by lmcancu
Hi I am having an issue with the LED backlight of this TV. I can see the picture with a flash light, so I determined it was a backlight issue.

Initially, after opening it I found 2 shorted and 1 open LED on 2 strips (total of 4). I removed the LEDs and shorted the pads together to verify if the backlight would work.

Testing it, I found the backlight turned on and I measured 54V when TV was in standby (off), and 100v when TV was turned on. The 4 strips each contain 9 LEDs, so 36 in all minus 3.

Instead of putting it back together I decided to replace...

                  Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....
