LG 50PK750 screen won't come on

I have an LG50PK750 that about 6 months ago started not turning on when I hit the power button. The red light on the front would turn blue and after a few seconds it would go out but the screen stayed blank. If I waited about 10 seconds and turned it off and then back on it would come on. Over the months it would take 3 or 4 tries before it came on. after a while I decided to just leave it on, and when I was done watching it, I would let the firestick plugged into it go to sleep. This worked fine until we had a power outage. Now the screen will not come on at all. I have done some troubleshooting, and thought maybe it was the voltage converter on the main board, so i replaced it but I still get the same thing. I have check all the resistors and they are OK. All the voltages coming off the main board are where they should be both when in standby and when turned on.
Any suggestions on what I should look at next? I know the TV is 10 years old, but I'd like to get it working so that I can put it in a bedroom. Thanks.

Check these 3 resistors. They should all be right around 10 ohms. If one is not it is bad.

Thanks, I checked them all and 2 are right at 10, and the third read 9.8.

Check them again in continuity mode. I believe they are also fuseable?

You can also try running the test patterns. There are many posts on how to do that.

I'm a novice and I don't know what continuity mode means or how to do it. I have connected the 2 holes beside R51 and R52 on the control board, and I do not get anything on the screen.

Did you also connect the cable between the mainboard and the control board ? (with the power disconnected).

yes the lvds cable labeled p31 was disconnected, and when I turned it on I got the same response the light on the front turned blue for about 5 seconds, then turned red, and the screen stayed black.

Continuity mode is when you touch both leads of your meter together and it makes a beep sound.

Just to make sure I am running the test patter correctly, I have unplugged the TV, and after about 5 minutes I disconnect the LVDS cable P31. I then take a wire and insert the 2 ends in the holes labeled 51 and 52. I don't plug the LVDS cable back in. I then plug the TV back in and turn the TV on and should see something on the screen. When I do this the screen is blank. Does this mean the control board is bad?
Additionally I have found that when the TV is on I still get sound. I turned it up using the remote when the TV was on.

I fixed a 60PX950 recently which is similar to yours. If you tried to run the self test by disconnecting the ASIC board from the mainboard, then jumpering the two points on the ASIC board, there should be a pattern that shows up on the screen. It's very obvious and shows that the ASIC board + panel are good. If you tried to do this and didn't get a pattern then I would think you have a bad ASIC board.

I believe the chips on ASIC board are BGA soldered so as a last resort you could always try baking that board in the oven. Although most BGA related issues are on the main processing chip on the mainboard (under the heatsink).

Macbook 2017 with touchbar (A1706) won't turn on after removing the screen

Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

Macbook Air M2 A2681 Kernel panics after screen replacement
                        by reformatt
Just had a customer bring in a M2 MBA A2681 that had had a screen replacement in April at another repairer. Since then, she has been getting intermittent kernel panics. It's an aftermarket screen, and of course it fails in diagnostics as the calibration hasn't been done. The error in the panic log is "No device added after powering on the rails".

It seems the original repairer has swapped the board and the screen to other MAC's, and said that it isn't a screen issue. From what I understand, by doing a quick search on Google, this is in fact a screen issue. The panic relates...

iphone XS turns off when press on screen.
                        by smic717394
                        Hi,

I have a iphone XS that came in for a screen replacement, the screen was badly cracked, and inside missing scues, on the back of the screen still the blue protector, the screen was a LCD. So we replaced the screen and all good, installed the screen and we noticed that pressing the screen with a bit of force but not excessive, the phone dies. After plugging the charger it turns back on, but again if you press it it dies. I open the phone again, and I can't see anything major, with the phone open, if I press on the logic board, battery, charging board, or even putting pressure on...

                        by Chrissygizmo
Hello everyone, I’ve just been given a Samsung UE55JU6800K smart tv as it had white spots on the screen due to the led lenses falling off. After refitting them & putting the tv back together I thought it was a nice easy fix for a free bedroom tv , then I tried it before screwing the back into place. I realised that the right side of the screen was darker than the other side, I removed the screen again as I thought the backlights had failed but they are fine.
I put the screen back in place & turned it back on . The screen seemed to be ok again but different screens on the same...

Screen dimmer in recent months, weird symptom: EPG screen goes bright! LG 19LD350
                        by Hairspring
In recent months the screen has been getting more and more dim. If that was all, I'd suppose the problem would be the backlight (LED? LCD?). But I've noticed this really weird symptom: switching to the EPG screen restores normal brightness! And then, even weirder, when I go back to the programme, for a moment the programme is at normal brightness and over the next 1-2 seconds it gradually dims down again.

Last time I looked in a TV it had EHT flyback, so I'm no expert. I do sometimes repair computer monitors and power supplies, most often when there's bad caps.

                        Anyhow,...
