LG TV 42LW5700 does not power on fully (PSU EAX62865401/Main board EAX64405501)

My LG 42LW5700 doesn't power on. when tv plugged on the standby light is
a very week until I switch power on then the standby light blinking slowly.

    After checking the power supply,
I measured the output voltage after switch on and everything looks okay

Please see the attached picture of the voltage test for the output ports.

So probably the power supply is ok and the problem could be on the mainboard EAX64405501,
The standby led is always very dim until I switch on and then the led start to blink (high and dim not in the same rate).

What do you think from the measure? What do I need to check next?

I cannot find the boards schematic on the web.

    please see the pictures below.

    Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks!

The chart is useless without having the pin name for each pin.

I believe the mainboard is bad. You can remove the black heatsink and thermal pad and hit the cpu with a heat gun for 45 seconds. If it turns back on, there's the problem. It may last anywhere from a week to 5 years.....nobody knows for sure.

With tv unplugged, unhook cable from powerboard to mainboard, plug tv back into power, see if backlights come on.

Thanks for your advice, already done this, but unfortunately, that's not the case.

That pdf is just a no help picture, the picture in the first post is the way to do it. DON'T need anything fancy, just put down what it says on the label for connector P201, type it out. Test connector from mainboard to powerboard on powerboard side with all boards hooked up, test with tv plugged in but off then hit power, report both conditions here, give pin number, pin description/name and condition both off and when you hit power on. So we can see all the voltages and what they are doing. Try to do test just as instructed, example in second link below if needed. Try to do it just as instructed, if you don't understand something just ask, someone here will probably know.

                  With all boards hooked up,
The measurements data is in two conditions:
                  Plugged in tv off
                  Plugged in tv on

Looks like the mainboard isn't sending the DRV-ON signal.

I would try to verify the backlights and powerboard, don't know if this powerboard has pullup resistors, may have to use resistors to jumpstart the powerboard by itself, YOU MUST HAVE MAINBOARD UNPLUGGED FROM POWERBOARD IF YOU DO THIS TEST, usually done by connecting the standby pin to power on and drv-on may also need a resistor going to pwm on, so you would use 2 or 3 resistors, then if backlights come on, it's most likely the mainboard at fault.

Hi, I realized this is an old thread but just wanted to share my experience. Mine is a LG 47LW5700 and had the same voltage readings as the original author. I baked the main board at 300F for 18min, and worked like a charm. Hope this helps if anyone is looking for advice =)

LE, LV, LW, LS series all have BGA issues. Lots of repair services on ebay. Home baking is a temporary fix and your problem will likely come back.

Is it possible to upgrade from a Vestel 17MB97 main board to a 17MB110 Main board?

I suppose the real question is whether the existing pinouts from ether a 17IPS71 psu are cross compatible with a 17IPS12 psu? If they are then the exchange of the main boards should have no issues providing the screen is compatible with both main boards. Obviously you can change the screen configurations easily enough (providing you have the correct files) for the main board. Why may you ask would I do this? Well a lot of the smart features are no longer working on a Hitachi 48HBT62U main board I wish to give it a new lease of life!
Obviously the same LVDS connector for the screen connection...

Hi and thanks in advance for any input you might provide!
I have a Sceptre U550CV-UMRD8POTV83BB 4K LED (this is a dumb tv) that I bought new in August 2021, so It's just completed 3 years.

Last Sunday I was watching a dvd and fell asleep for about half hour, when I awoke the tv screen was black and couldn't get the dvd menu to show, so I changed the input to antenna and had sound but no picture, turned it off. I then got online and found this great site! ....read many troubleshooting tips and this...

I’m looking for help with a persistent issue on an LG TV model 55NANO77SRA, which uses the main board EBU66792103 (also used in LG UQ80 and NANO75/NANO80 series).

                              🧩 Problem Summary:
                              • The TV keeps scrolling through the menu or selecting items by itself.
                              • I removed the physical button board (the entire panel with power and volume buttons) and also disconnected the flat cable (CN202) from the main board.
                              • The remote control is not in use (batteries removed), and the TV still shows the same behavior.

Help Needed: Samsung UE55MU8000 Dead - Possible Main Board Issue
                              by Asraf Atb
                              Hi everyone,

Im looking for some advice regarding my Samsung UE55MU8000 TV with main board model BN94-11606C. The TV suddenly stopped turning on and now shows no signs of life at all not even the standby light at the bottom.

Initially, I suspected an issue with the PSU, so I took it to a repair center. They tested it and confirmed that the PSU works perfectly, even on other TVs. Based on that, I started investigating the main board.

I disconnected the main board from the PSU, and the backlight turned on, which seems to confirm the main board is the issue....

                              Hoping someone here could possibly help. I have a few questions in regards to compatibility with main boards. But I'll give a quick short run down on what's going on first;

I have Samsung Smart TV UA65MU6100WXXY version DA01

Now years ago it started intermittently playing up after a lighting strike. Lighting hit the block of units i was living in at the time. Ever since that night the TV started having a mind of its own, It would randomly turn itself off or on, and all inputs stopped responding like HDMI, aerial, but USB still worked. Anyway, over the next few months...
