Samsung plasma tv ps50b530s2w washed out screen

Hello,

I have a problem with my 48 in Samsung Plasma TV (images attached).

When I was watching my TV a month ago, I heard a very small explosion after-which the screen turned black so I have turned the TV off. After 5 minutes I turned it back on to find that I have an image but it is washed out and pixelated. I kept it on for a while and then I turned it off for about two weeks. Afterwards, I turned it back on to find out that the screen has two or three large black patches which will slowly recede to reveal the washed out pixelated image. I believe the black patches are only shown when the TV has been cool for a while.

Any idea how can I solve this problem? I need some expert help please!

I suspect faulty Z sus board , remove and check for bad joints , especially the inductors

May I know which board is the Z-sus? And do I need to test any voltages? Or check components (fuses, caps, etc.)?

I have checked all the connection and everything seem fine. Is there anything else I should try?

The Z-sus is the top right board with the two big heatsinks.

there appears to be ALOT of "contamination" along the top of the board in the second picture. Was there some moisture or such around the set? You likely need to clean those areas carefully. In the first, the small capacitor in the middle looks burnt.

You're absolutely right, the diode is burnt - see attached zoomed in picture.

Update: I have also found that the top "20 x 5 mm 6.3A 250V diode" on the Z board is burnt - I have tested it using a multimeter. Probably this one burnt along with the diode!

I will replace the diode and update you with results.

From the picture, can you tell me what is the part/model number I should be looking for? I can't seem to find anything related to D4014 or U4006...

dont bother replacing the diode ...there will be other issues
Just look for a replacement board
