What happen to the Voltages on various test points on the T-CON if no ribbon cable between the T-con and the LCD panel connected?

It can be as simple as shorted/leaky caps on the tab bonding board, worst case will be bad COF.

Ok so here is the update. I Found a 12 v source on the tcon that apears to feed the pwm for the 17v source and the 8.8 v source. This is the source that was dropping I fed an external 12v to it and the picture popped back on but I slowly watched the current rise from. 1/2 amp to 1 amp then the tv shut down and rebooted .. So I thought about what you said and I narrowed it down it is the panel or more likely some cap on panel board. I'll be taking that apart next. .. but I determined that one ribbon of the 4 would cause the shutdown. Disconnecting. It the tv would stay on

            I don't think it's a COF I have a perfect picture!

But it works for a while then picture goes away, correct, so when COF heats up the problem then occurs, so that is still possibility, they do run hot. The best hope will be just bad MLCC.

which one of the 4 tcon to panel cables are you "successful" with in getting the "non-shut down".

Further, if this set has tabs and edge boards along the side also, you can further isolate your problem by disconnecting the small corner cables that interconnect the bottom edge board to the side edge board. IF not, you can also try isolating by disconnecting the "U" ribbon cable that sometimes exists on "very long" bottom edge boards to interconnect those. These actions might help you isolate where / which area you need to focus your checks.

It's the large on the picture on the right or the third one if you count left to right

OK... I think that points to a problem in the bottom edge board... possible a smd capacitor or resistor.
