A replacement eeprom might be worth a shot, if one is available.

I see an eeprom here from shopjimmy, not sure if it's a match for your tv, I would call or email them with your board numbers and sticker number and see if they have one. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Tcl-LE48FHD...wAAOSwYGFUuBEc

I did send them an e-mail. Does the EEPROM have to be programmed? Or is this just NVM and I just need to replace existing chip with a new one?
Unfortunately I can't make out anything legible on the existing chip.

From what I read, I believe if it uses eeprom tech. it needs programmed.

EEPROMs are a type of NVM and need programming. Shopjimmy however sells EEPROMS already programmed that can just be soldered on.

I contacted shopjimmy via e-mail - a little surprised by the response:

"Sorry no we do not sell the EEPROM's. You can try PTS Electronics 812-676-1200."

That IS strange, I would have had to ask them, then why are you selling them on ebay?

Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 - no power
                  by PantherDave
                  Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

Vizio P502ui-B1E power light turns on, but no picture
                  by nsab6464
                  Hey guys,
I have a Vizio P502ui-B1E with no display activity at all with the power light on. It broke in a very specific way, and now exhibits strange behavior when turned on (slow response to power off command, restarts every 90 sec, more below), so I'm hoping that someone with experience working on this TV can point me in the right direction.

I already tried the 2 most common fixes with no luck:
                  - Replacing the T-Con board.
                  - Re-flashing the firmware on the U202 chip (from here: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?p=840012)

                  Here's exactly...

troubleshooting microsoft surface pro 4 no power no led charge light
                  by ipatch
hello, i have been sitting on some microsoft surface pro 4 tablets for a while now. i was originally tasked with replacing the battery in one of the tablets, and ended breaking the screen and logic board in the process. decided to buy another tablet with the same specs. got that screen off successfully of the second tablet. the logic board appeared good, but i guess i shorted something out in the installation process of the logic which i've read is a common issue if there is no barrier between the logic board and battery pins. all that said, i ate costs of the repair and have...

Samsung UN60EH6000F Black Screen, Backlight and Sound Good. Power Cycle Returns Picture
                  by Mgiffune
I have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.

I ordered a supposedly ‘new' Tcon board this time, and

Desoldering gun station modified to use a 18 volt @ 20 amp switching power supply
                  by sam_sam_sam
I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...
