Sony KDL-46HX729 What is this defect called?

Thinking about buying this TV on CL. Have been unable to find much info about the defect, possibly because I do not know what term has been coined for it. Can anyone tell me and what the problem is with the TV? Thanks.

its likely a panel fault dealing with connections to the panel that are not repairable as they are bonded to the panel. Many types of sets have similar failures as this is a common lcd tv fault. The only value may be in salvaging the boards.

Id skip it. Panel/tab bonds faulty.

May be a candidate for a tab bond shim, which might clear up the vertical lines but that horizontal line may be a challenge. The ones with these panel problems aren't worth much at all.

Don't buy this TV, unless you want to salvage the boards and sell on e-bay.

I'm not sure about the panel fault, if you buy it at very low price you can make fun doing troubleshooting, i have a suspect about the tcon board, but if you are not familiar with electronics repair and only want to change boards, then get out of there.. i would call it " vertical streaks / stripes " but not much people call it so..

Not a bonding problem!
