Sansui 55" LCD TV Model STY1655 (Backlights switching off intermittently)

    Hi guys,
I have been battling on this one quite some time without any solution. At this point i suspect the inverter board is bad but need to confirm it first. What is happening is that the backlight switch off randomly. I noticed that its the one side of the edge lit leds that flicker and switch off te other side is perfectly fine and stable. I then measured the incoming voltage going off of the LED supply connector and get 42V DC but at times this value changes goes up to 52V. I also measured the return voltage on the LEDs marked N1, N2, N3 etc and they all increase in voltage going up towards 20V DC. Normally they run at about 1.8V Can this be a LED strip going open circuit causing this or is this a bad inverter board?
What tests can i do to determine this?

    Regards

I see that the Vizio E322MV uses the backlight inverter model number T87D106.00
Anybody got a schematic for this board? It would really help me.

Try turning the back lights down as low as they go in the menu and see if the problem goes away or the back lights are staying on for longer. If you do see an improvement with this, you have bad LED's on the back light strips. The panel needs to be taken apart and the strips replaced.

There is no such menu option. What i can do, is swap the two plugs around and see if it's the inverter or the led's. The problem is that the plugs differ so i will have to remove the individual wires and swap over after marking the wires. Risky but can prove its the backlights or not.

Update: I swapped the two led plugs around to find out that the same side is flickering thus its the inverter that's faulty.

I meant to say its the leds on that side that are faulty. You agree?

yes, the LEDs on that side is / are faulty. These LED's are constant current driven, not by constant voltage. That's why you see the volts go up when a LED goes out.

Thanks Capleaker, i have ordered replacement LED's. Will have to wait 4 months to arrive. That's how pathetic our postal service is here in South Africa.
Will post a update once i have installed them.

yeah... sometimes it isn't much better here either with 3 months.

Desoldering gun station modified to use a 18 volt @ 20 amp switching power supply
                    by sam_sam_sam
I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...

                    Samsung A53 5G SM-A536F switching off intermittently
                    by mixmax
Samsung A53 5G SM-A536F dropped, screen cracked. replaced. Phone works now, but switching off intermittently. It doesn't turn on at all if phone is assembled and all screws are in. When motherboard is loose, it works. I suspect, there is a crack in the MB or pin on some component. The question is:
is repair attempt feasible and what is the best way to do it?

Modification to a ZD-987 desoldering/soldering station using a external switching power supply
                    by sam_sam_sam
I have been working on this concept for quite some time now with limited success but recently I found a switching power supply that is setup for the voltage that this soldering station needs to operate at however it also needs part of the secondary circuit from the original switching power because you need several voltage rails

I once tried to get a ZD-915 desoldering station to work on a 18 volt battery power supply but unfortunately things did not go well but I did find a work around but I might try this idea again but going at a little differently more about this another time...

Corsair K70 LUX RGB dying LEDs
                    by Pipolups
                    Hi there !

I'm having an issue for several weeks with my quite old K70 LUX RGB keyboard. I haven't used it for few months, and once I setup up again my desktop computer, I got several dead LEDs on that keyboard. I tried the Corsair troubleshooting thing (disabling options in iCUE, ...) but nothing changed so I conclude that for some reason some LEDs went in retirement...😅
Decision taken to change these LEDs as I have access to desoldering iron and binocular magnifier, I wrote a ticket to tech support, hopping to obtain the LEDs reference and... They refused to tell me 🙄...

Panasonic switching power supply daughter board has two 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors which I do not keep in stock
                    by sam_sam_sam
I did not have any 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors but one nice thing is that it has enough room for two capacitors in parallel a 22uf and a 4.7uf @ 50 volts 22 plus 4.7 equals 26.7uf which so very close to 27uf I will show some pictures of it sometime tomorrow

This is one of the shit est boards I seen in a very long time and it was the daughter board the traces just lifting off the board I had to use the capacitor leads to repair the the traces and the main board is not any better because I had to repair several traces for the daughter board to the main board

                    After all of...
