Re: Lg 50ln5700 horizontal moving black line on bottom of screen

Do you think all people here put a post only when they are sure about the solution? I have posted a suggestion, if the OP is happy to keep the TV as is then well for him, not for me, i've spent 120 euro for 3 tv w/broken screen, without the possibilty to make tests, (already explained why).. if i come in possession of another one i will do theese tests, it's up the owner to try or not, i'm not here to suggest how to destroy a tv, the panel it's already slightly damaged, if you don't agree my methods you don't know well LCD technology..
If i do or not youtube video it's not your porblem, i don't know how to do a video, how to post it on YT, and needs also knowledge of english speaking, but it's possible that i will do one day or another..

Well folks it's all right there in davi's last post, I don't even have to quote it, if this is "smart" THEN I'm glad to be "stupid" let us know if you ever get all these "techniques" figured out or even one for that matter, maybe our great grandchildren can make use of them one day. I think you are just frustrated that these are "PROVEN" techniques and none of yours have really worked out. I'm sad for you, I kind of wish I could turn back time and let you be the one to come up with these proven techniques, oh I know, why don't you invent a time machine, lololololololol.

                Hi to all,

I was given this TV, an entry-level 4K 50" set. Some have criticized its lack of contrast and relatively poor colour rendering, but for my needs, it's very decent.

I reset everything to factory settings, but this line keeps on fading in and out when watching a streaming channel from the Tizen firmware. Interestingly, it only happens when TV is warm, after about 1h45 of it being turned on.

Watching a movie from an external source doesn't trigger the line as easily (needs 2 hours), and from a normal viewing distance, is hardly noticeable. It...

As stated by the person I collected the TV from, it just stopped working overnight. However, I still gave it a go to try and repair it.

There is a thread on the same TV but with slightly different issues where they had to tape connection points on the ribbon cable, so I want to see if this is repairable by any chance.

After bringing it home and plugging it in, the TV turned on with its backlight working but had no picture. After removing the back cover, the first thing I tried is to unplug one of the ribbon cables and the situation is as follows.

                Left...

                Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....
