RCA RLDED4897a-b Swithing off after 2-3 minutes

    Hi guys

I have a RCA RLDED4897. I replaced the T-CON about six months ago, and it worked perfect until now. It now switches on, display is on working as it should, and then after about 2-3 minutes the backlights switch off. The sound still works, and I can see the picture when shining with a flashlight into it. If I power it off and on again, the display would be perfect for 2-3 minutes and then the backlights would go out.

    I would appreciate any help

    Thank you

You need to upload some good clear pictures so we can see what we are dealing with.
Can you get to the setup menu and turn down the backlights (not brightness) to as low as possible to see if the backlights will stay on longer?

Re: RCA RLDED4897a-b Swithing off after 2-3 minutes

Thank you for your reply BudM. I found the problem for my TV. The backlight strips fail. Currently two strips have several dead LED's. I bought a little hotplate from SJ awhile ago to try to replace LED's. But, what LED's do I buy.

      Dimmable?
      White Light?
      Voltage?
      Wattage

      Also for Samsung UN46EH5000

      Thank you BudM

Corsair K70 LUX RGB dying LEDs
        by Pipolups
        Hi there !

I'm having an issue for several weeks with my quite old K70 LUX RGB keyboard. I haven't used it for few months, and once I setup up again my desktop computer, I got several dead LEDs on that keyboard. I tried the Corsair troubleshooting thing (disabling options in iCUE, ...) but nothing changed so I conclude that for some reason some LEDs went in retirement...😅
Decision taken to change these LEDs as I have access to desoldering iron and binocular magnifier, I wrote a ticket to tech support, hopping to obtain the LEDs reference and... They refused to tell me 🙄...

        TCL 55RP620K power board issue
        by notallbad
Originally the tv arrived with dimmed backlights (not failed leds) but everything else worked ok. Adjusting backlight in menu did nothing but voltage changed on dimming control pins,
        0% p_dim at 1.65v and a_dim at 1v
        50% p_dim at 3.3v and a_dim at 1.65v
        100% p_dim at 3.3v and a_dim at 2.88v

Changed backlight leds anyway as always like to have complete peace of mind they wont fail shortly after selling the tv. No change as expected!

Leds are 2 rows of 15 6v leds.

On inspection of the power board found diode MBR3200 shorted so replaced with...

Samsung UE48H6410 replaced Mainboard but backlights doesnt go on
        by max789
Hello, I have a problem with my Samsung UE48H6410SSXZG with the main board BN41-02156A and the power board BN44-00709A. Everything seemed like this, the TV could no longer be switched on, the standby LED always flashed 5x2 times. Backlight was off and no sound from TV. Also made the flashlight test and there was no picture.

        I made the following tests:
        1. Disconnected the main board from Power Board = backlight works.
        2. Connected the main board and disconnected the T-Con = backlights does not work.

So I ordered a main board from Ebay also BN41-02156A but from...

        VIZIO M557-G0: Backlights or ???
        by bpcannan
        'Morning,
I get sound and picture when powering on the TV and its stays that EXCEPT that the left half of the screen will dim every few seconds then return to normal while the right side of the screen performs as designed.

Did the soft and hard reset options pulling the plug, using the reet option in the vizio menu to no avail.

I checked the mainboard - found some popped capacitors so replaced it - but that did not change the situation.

I checked the t-con board. It is getting good power. Then I removed one ribbon cable to see if I could isolate...

Samsung UE49MU6400 acts dead until disconnecting backlights, then works.
        by jesterace
Hi everyone I have this TV which was dead one day when I tried to turn it on. I've had the cover off and there was just a pulsating/electrical clicking/ticking noise from the PSU. I disconnected the mainboard as sometimes this works to just fire it up with backlights on? That didn't help. Same noise. Then I disconnected the backlight cable from the PSU and the TV came alive. It appeared to respond to the remote and i'm pretty sure it's fully operational when there is no backlight connected.

However, I am in a dilemma.

I tested the backlight outputs with the lights disconnected...
