I have this newer LED TV and there is no picture when I turn it on. The blue light comes on but there is absolutely no backlighting. If I flash a light on the screen, I can see the picture in the background. There are only two boards on this when I take the back cover off. I have attached pictures of the unit and the boards. Nothing looks like it got hot and can't find any bad caps, solder joints etc. Any ideas? Thanks in advance

If it was one or more LEDs, would I not see a partial screen?
This was like the whole screen went out all at once.Comment

Are they not hooked in series across the screen, but in parallel off of the side boards? I haven't opened up the LED portion yet but I would assume that if the backlight is out, that would mean every LED would have to be out. Is there a way to test the whole LED section or do I need special tools.Last edited by bwilliams60; 10-15-2018, 05:46 PM.Comment

Re: RCA 42" LED TV - No picture - RLDED4215A-E
Okay so I found the LED connector and measured it with my DVOM. On Standby, I was measuring -53.3 VDC with my leads in correct orientation. When I turned the TV on, it climbed to 173 VDC and then down to 68 VDC where it stayed after about 15 seconds. No lights. So one would assume that the lights are in fact burnt out. Any thoughts?Comment

Re: RCA 42" LED TV - No picture - RLDED4215A-E
They are usually all in series if there are only 2 wires going to them, 173v means the power supply is working, without any load the voltage will drop down.
If you do remove the lcd be carefull removing the fragile lcd screen and pay attention to the order and direction of the diffuser sheetsComment

Unit needs new LED strips. Tested each one at 27 volts and bottom row fails.
All good.Last edited by bwilliams60; 10-15-2018, 07:54 PM.Comment

by MgiffuneI have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.
I ordered a supposedly ‘new' Tcon board this time, and... -

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.
This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen... -
Have a Samsung UN50NU7400 which shows a boot screen and a screen saver if left on long enough but no picture ?
Would a moving screen saver confirm that the panel is ok or it could still be a panel issue ? -
by nasdaaHello, I need your help for a failure on a laptop:
It's a Packard Bell Kayf0, motherboard LA-5021P, Rev 1.0 with graphic issue.
I received this pc because it was turning on but not displaying anything, the fans are running normally and all chipsets heat up on startup but no picture on screen, no backlight either. I noticed that ENAVDD and ENVDD are not present and that there is no LCDVDD on the connector. I didn't check the screen because, maybe I'm wrong, but if there aren't these signals, even if the screen is good, it can't display anything? I tried heating the... -
by burbutsalosHello everyone.
I have this TV set which has this issue. It shows a vertical bar im the middle of the screen.
The panel has 12 cofs and the problem seems to be on the territory of the first cof on the right side.
The tv fires up and you can see a good picture exept that vertical part where multicoloured pixels exist.
The strange thing there is that you can see behind that snow that it shows picture but as if there are these pixels in front so you cannot see clearly.
The effect is there even on a completely black screen.
The screen... - Loading...
