What thermo fuse? There is no thermo fuse.

Re: sony kdl-22ex320 fuse blows after 10 mins
Perhaps if you post clear, focused, close up Pictures of the PSU so that we can see the labels on the connectors clearly we could tell you better where your problem lies. We need to know if PS-ON, STDBY, BL-ON, etc voltages are still present at shutdown. Those voltage readings you took is with reference to Hot GND or Chassis GND and to me they are of no use for me.Leave a comment:

Re: sony kdl-22ex320 fuse blows after 10 mins
I'll run the power board solo later and get some values proper. I was expecting the bridge rec to be the problem or a cap short when I got it but its deeper dish than that it seems.Leave a comment:

Makes sense,. After a brief check getting 24v on one of the MOSFETs, the single one on far left. It goes completely off, no standby lights. Getting high voltage as far as the transformer with a couple of quick probes. The thermo fuse is still good.Leave a comment:

Well with this new information it puts a different spin on things. Answer the questions asked by budm.Leave a comment:

Re: sony kdl-22ex320 fuse blows after 10 mins
When you said it dies again, what does it really mean? Do you have no DC outputs from the power supply board at all to run the main board when it is DEAD, or no backlights, etc? What kind of test have you done when it is not working?
That power supply is an always on power supply with some of the outputs that are switched ON when PS-ON is present.Last edited by budm; 09-20-2018, 09:47 AM.Leave a comment:

Re: sony kdl-22ex320 fuse blows after 10 mins
Been missinformed, its not blowing the fuse. Just had it on the bench and it ran for a good hour, left it to grab a firmware update as it was out of date and not conecting to bravia network, came back to it and it was dead. Checked the fuses, all good, unplugged it for a few minutes whilst doing this obviously but when plugged in it fired up again for a few seconds then died again.
Sounds like something is collapsing when it gets hot, thermal fuse by the main winding?
The person i got it off must have been confused by the fact that it cooled down while the fuse was being changed.Last edited by KountZERO; 09-20-2018, 09:17 AM.Leave a comment:

I can't see the labels on the connectors clearly from you picture. However, I think you may have an inverter or Hi-voltage transformer problem, at first glances.Leave a comment:

sony kdl-22ex320 fuse blows after 10 mins
Hiya, long time away due to ill health, anyway..
Picked up titled set and when plugged in, it runs for about 10 minutes then blows the plug fuse. There are no artifacts on screen or sound issues.
Pulled the board and there dont seem to be any physical defects, rubycon caps all look good and no scorching on the board near the hot components.
Will a short lightbulb rig reveal anything useful before i start desoldering? Ive been told it could either be condesation or cold solder joints (would that case a surge when the joint fails when warm and if so which component?) I thought a bad joint would just give an open short?Last edited by KountZERO; 09-20-2018, 05:22 AM.Tags: None

by corrizeHello, I have 2 old chargers for Sony DV, and I found the same resistor fuse dead. Fuse is a crossing component : 0,47 Ohms (0,125W deduced because the lenght is 3mm). But I can’t find the same for buy.
So, I want to replace by another like 0 Ohms, 1 Ohms 0,125W,
It is the same please ? I guess it’s the same, the only change should be the time to burn ? Thanks... -
Hi, I'll start by saying that I'm not an expert and I've reached a point where I don't know what to try/do anymore...
Starting from the beginning: I opened this subwoofer for the first time with a very strong smell of burnt electrical components, I realize that on the amplifier board there is a hole between V+ OUT and GND about the size of a finger, the damaged components were the shorted mosfets, two damaged zener diodes and two capacitors. I bought everything, I fixed the hole by cutting the pcb and putting a piece of a perforated board.
I had no problems connecting mosfets and capacitors,...-

by corrizeHello, I disassembled this dead camera, and found this WTF… Two fuses soldered one above the other !
I was pretty sure nobody touched it before, but that can't be from factory. There is flux, and capacitor is probably missing.
The other weird thing : the fuses are « G » fuse : (0.75A – 8V), seems very low. The original fuse should be « O » : (32V 2,5A).
There is « O » mark beside. All fuses have the same mark letter on main board. So, I can deduce it's a « O » fuse.
And this correspond to the issus I saw : when I plug the battery, I measure the voltage dropping... -
by Michale32086I could have sworn I posted about this before, but I can't seem to find the post..
To whit..
I have a 60LN5400 that came in.. Backlights work fine.. No display..
Traced the problem to the TCON board.. Blown fuse..
Replaced the fuse.. Blows again.. Replaced the fuse again... This time it fries the marked part on the Main Video board...
Got a new Main Video Board.. Replaced the fuse on the TCON..
The fuse is fine and the backlights come on fine if I don't have the cellophane connectors from the TCON to the... -
by dimis7Hi all,
Need some advice to troubleshoot this TV.
PSU blow the main fuse F100, 3.15A.
I replace the fuse with another 3A (but not ceramic) and blows it again after few seconds when i plugged in to the wall, with nothing connected to PSU, just the power cord.
I checked with DMM for dead sorts but didn't found any.
Checked bridge rectifier and seems ok.
Also check main filter cap with transistor / cap / esr tester (the usual cheap transistor testers from ebay) and found ok.
PSU p/n is EAX64405901 (1.6)... - Loading...
