THE HULK Olevia 265TFHD 65" LCD Inverter Boards ???

Got in a monster.. Older Olevia 65" LED and the thing weighs like 500 lbs!!

OK, OK, only 235 lbs but it feels like 500...

Power it up and, after a few tries, it comes on.. No backlight on the left side of the screen, as you face it..

So I am thinking bad inverters.. It's a set of 3 on either side..

Ordered a replacement set, but they came in damaged.. Specifically, the metal frame that surrounds the doo-hickeys.. (see pics)

    Would that affect functionality??

    Thanx

Personally I would send them back or replace the transformers with some from the old inverter boards.

The material around the transformers is ferrite and this determines the inductance of the coil it surrounds.

Yea, the seller already refunded me and just told me to keep the boards...

At the very least, they might be able to help me determine if actually is the problem.. I just want to make sure that using them won't fry something.. Maybe super glue the pieces back on??

      Thanx for the reply...

If you could clamp each piece together and then use rapid araldite around the break then it is possible that they should be OK. Worth a try. Work case scenario is that they may become a little noisy. Very simply the inductance of the coil is determined by the number of windings, the diameter of the winding and the properties of any ferrite material used.

Yea, that sounds good.. Since I (now) got them for free, it would be nice to confirm that the problem is the inverters.. The TV apparently has two Power PCBs, one for each set of inverters... If the inverters aren't the issue, then I might be looking at a replacement Power PCB for the left inverters..

I think I still have a full set of boards for this tv. However the tv they came from also suffered from 2-seconds to black in addition to a cracked screen so can't vouch for their condition.

Three 820-01700 32GB Logic Boards Same Issue: Won't Wake From Hibernate
                by ugamazing
I have three identical-spec 820-01700 boards (2.6/32/512), and ALL THREE boards came to us with the same fault, from different sources: The boards don't wake from hibernation with the keyboard or lid, they ONLY wake when you press the power button. I understand this is a very minor issue, but the boards must be fixed!

We will of course begin with the obvious (checking lid signals), but I couldn't help but notice these three boards were all 32GB variants. Has anyone noticed an issue relating to these 32GB boards in particular? I of course don't think it's a RAM issue, but it's bizarre...

Apple M1 Boards & Exclamatory Error?
                by ugamazing
We've now created a stack of 10 boards that have the same issue, which we suspect to be CPU-related. The issue is very simple--the board will not boot to anything, only showing the exclamatory sign inside a circle. No amount of DFU/restore, wipe/erase, etc, will resolve the issue. No boards have physical damage. We went ahead and replaced the SSD nands on two boards (one 02020, one 02016) and the issue remained exactly the same. We are considering replacing the CPU on one of the boards using a locked CPU, just so we can see if it resolves the issue.

Has anyone else run into this...

Vizio E55-E1 bad backlights or bad inverter?
                by x_orange90_x
I just got this tv today and it appeared to have no backlight on. After taking off the rear cover and checking again in the dark I can see that MAYBE one quadrant is lit.. But still it's quite dim. I was going to check the LEDs with my tester, and I found LED 1 and LED 2 + pins on the wire from the inverter, but I couldn't identify a ground. Nonetheless I tried using a mounting screw on the inverter board and also the chassis as ground but regardless my tester reads 300 which is what it reads when there is no voltage draw.

I don't know how exactly to test the inverter itself. Is it...

Best place to source RAM chips? 8GB 820-00850 boards to 16GB or 32GB
                by ugamazing
I'm looking to upgrade several 8GB 820-00850 boards to 16GB or 32GB for personal use. I am curious what the best practice and process is for sourcing new replacement chips, and what vendor(s) you guys prefer? Another question is, how do I find compatible chips and their corresponding part/model numbers? For example, in the 820-00850 schematic, the DDR chip U2600 model listed (EDFB232A1MA) corresponds to 1x32GB chip. Of course, I would need 4x8GB chips to replace the 4x2GB chips currently on the board. How do I find compatible 8GB chips? Is it as simple as searching "BGA178 8GB 2133"...

Looking for help with a Viewsonic VP230mb where the backlight comes on only momentarily
                by lostone
Hello, I came here after finding some similar questions asked on other monitors and hope someone here can help me get an ancient Viewsonic VP230mp (23" 4:3 LCD) back to working condition.

First a little background, I have a background in computer and electrical engineering, and I'm smart enough to know I know nothing about LCD displays and how they work. For this topic I'm as green as they come.
When the display is turned on the viewsonic logo displays in the uppper left for 2 seconds then the screen goes black, the power LED is green (on) and when a computer is connected...
