    LCDV2257DVR no audio

So this tv has tda1517 audio ic

I have measured voltage on pin 8(stby mute) and there was a tiny amount of voltage say 0.800v
I traced this circuit to a smd resistor (101)100ohm then following that it goes to another resistor 103(10kohm)
I then checked the voltage before this resistor which was 16v
I changed the 10kohm resistor still no sound.
I then by passed this resistor and had sound.

the question is how did this even function before the fault?
is there something I am missing?

Can the TV sound be turned On/Off in the menu or Service Menu? I turn mine off and use a surround sound unit.

Please ignore the post#2. I don't know what happened and I got 'J' alone in. What I had before I edited that post was that instead of using a wire jumper to bypass the 103 resistor that reads OK out of circuit. Try placing another 103 across it in parallel so you have 5kohms now and check if the sound is restored.

i get the impression there is voltage missing some where. it might be on the psu I recaped all the secondary caps bar 1 which was a 25v 33uf which I didn't have.

Can we see good clear pictures of the board and especially around the TDA IC?

Sorry but my reply was a general reply. I don't have the same model tv but these functions are available on my Panasonic set.

Roland KR-3500/4500 Digital Piano. Crackling audio sound on all keys -Fixed
                    by i_am_patch
Hi All. I had a Roland KR-3500 Digital Piano (similar to the KR-4500) that exhibited a Crackling audio sound on all keys. After reading somewhere about someone with a similar issue who had replaced all the Electrolytic caps I decided to also go down that route. (Spoiler : It worked !) After some basic troubleshooting I determined that it could be noise feeding thru from the Keyboard scanning since the Demo tunes played back undistorted and the Audio amp / speakers were fine ( Inserted an Audio signal into the rear Audio input). After extracting the main board from the shield, I replaced 7 Capacitors...

Dell Vostro 5490 - no sound, no audio device
                    by Piaskos
Hi, i've got problem with Dell Vostro 5490.
                    Board - Mantis CML 18788-1

Windows says "no audio device detected". The other functions work properly.

                    What i've done:

                    1. I checked motherboard

                    2. I changed audio codec (ALC3204)

                    3. I reflashed bios with clear ME

                    4. Audio is enable in bios

                    5. Both speakers are good

                    6. After installing the drivers from the Dell website, the devices visible in the manager:
                    - Audio for intel displays

what i went through dealing with my mobo with dead onboard sound!
                    by ChaosLegionnaire
so i took out one of my spare gigabyte ep35-ds3r mobos from storage for use to do some cpu, ram and video card testing of stuff i bought from ebay and got for free from momaka. he bought 50 e8400 cpus for cheap from ebay some years ago and i decided to help him relieve him of some of his supply since he had waaaay too many!! what did we say about hoarding too much stuff and depriving others of them?! *cough* socialism *cough* lol!

i had to blow some dust off the board and heatsinks with the datavac as i didnt clean it up before putting it in storage. after finishing...

Motorola Minitor V pager no audio / sound repair
                    by CapLeaker
Got a bunch of Motorola Minitor V pagers from Fire Departments here trying to fix some out of the non working ones. These pagers are known for either no sound / audio or they don’t charge. The internet is full of suggestions like metal shavings inside the speaker?
Anyway so I took one of the Minitor’s apart for my amusement in order to see why that is and nobody can fix em. There are no service manuals or schematics for these that I know of. However… I did find the problem!

On the main board of this unit where the speaker connects to there is a metal shield....

HP 8470p - distorted sound and noise when playing audio
                    by televizora
                    Hello.
I have an issue with HP 8470p - rather strange one.
I have a noise and sound distortions on both internal speakers and external speakers, when I plug such into the 3.5mm audio jack.
Seems like the noise is present especially when I play audio, where there are parts/sections where the volume of the actual recorded sound is low.
Interestingly, when I play the windows sound test, everything seems to be almost okay. The sound/distortions are similar to when you have interference from some other piece of equipment nearby or when you have an audio receiver with bad amplifier...
