Have this Sony 37" television. Getting a light blue screen and nothing else. Thinking it could be the main board but wanted to get some advice. Tested T-Con and PSB and both good. Cannot get any buttons to work except for power button. No volume, menu, or input button control.

Re: Sony KDL-37M4000
disconnect one ribbon cable from the t-con and see if you get half a pic, then try the other half.
this is where scoping the lvds would let you know if the t-con is getting a signal or not.
is the t-con fuse good?WHY CAN'T PHILIPS USE PHILLIPS HEAD SCREWS? -

Re: Sony KDL-37M4000
The light blue screen tells us the backlights and the PSU is OK. Since the buttons are not working it is most likely a Main Bd. issue. As suggested before it may be an eeprom/software issue on the Main Bd. What is the Main Bd. Part No.??Comment

by Daren87Hello everyone,
I've recently been given a Sony 8k Z8H. It's got a white screen with two vertical black bars. At times it's given me the 5 blink Tcon code. Testing voltage on the Tcon I can see some low or missing voltage. I've done a basic visual check of cables and the COF. Not seeing anything obvious. The original Tcon seemed to have good caps until turning it over. On the bottom I found maybe 10 caps with both sides of the caps shorting to ground. I thought ok these caps and likely other components on the Tcon are shorted so let's try a replacement Tcon. I just received the... -
by iglitareHi,
i want to repair a Sony KD-75XF9005 TV that initially only showed a grey picture.
Backlight seems to work, Sound (Setup menu after reset) works.
If i dissconnect the left FFC cable from TCON to panel i have half a screen on the right. If left cable is connected always only the grey screen.
Interchanged the cables, its always only the right side that is working. Always grey if left side is connected.
With my small knowledge i would think at least the cables are good.
Can this happen because of a bad tcon board?
Or is it always a bad/shorted... -
by thelankanguyThe TV shows a black screen with no image.
TCON ribbon connectors were disconnected individually for image and there was no half image even.
Later both ribbons were disconnected and TCON voltages were tested.
12V, 3.3V, 1.8V were seen present but VONE signal reads 0V.
There is also a short to ground in this circled inductor.
Is this a TCON issue or something else ?... -
by bbrainHi,
I have this problem with my Sony 55' AG9.
It flashes 4x.
I have found the service manual, and seems it is the TCON.
Before I buy a TCON can someone check the vid?
Thanks in advance!... -
by rimwallHi, hoping for some views on this one which I've not come across before. The TV generates an image that has 12 noticeable bands across it. The image is still there and accurate, but the colour (or perhaps the brightness) changes gradually across each band which creates a noticeable 'step change' at the edge of each band. Given it's a 4K TV with 2160 rows of pixels, I'm guessing the 12 bands correspond to 12 gate drivers of 180 rows each. If this guess is right, then perhaps:
a) all the gate drivers are malfunctioning the same way (which seems unlikely), or
b) the Tcon board is malfunctioning,... - Loading...
