Samsung LN46C630K1FXZA no picture or backlight

    Hi folks,

I went to turn my LN46C630 off the other night and it only kind of turned off. Power was still being applied to the USB ports (I have a little bias lighting strip) and the backlight stayed on. The TV was unresponsive to remote signals. I let it sit for 20 or 30 minutes before pulling the plug.

The next day, I plugged it back in and went to turn it on, but it wouldn't turn on. Here's what it does: the standby light blinks a few times, then goes off for a bit, then comes back on. No backlight, no picture (tested with a flashlight). I took the back off and visually inspected the power supply for bad caps—nada. I checked the two fuses on the power supply—both good.

I ordered a new TCON board from ShipJimmy based on a forum post I found elsewhere, but that didn't solve the problem. I'm glad I found this forum because y'all seem a lot more knowledgeable. I disconnected the mainboard from the power supply and the backlight does come on, so that's good. I tried heating up the mainboard with a hair dryer, pushing on the chips with an insulated screw driver, and flexing the mainboard a bit. Nothing has worked so far.

Where do I go from here? I have a multimeter but I haven't touched a soldering iron in 20 years. The board is a BN94-02701G; the only replacement board that ShopJimmy has in stock is for the 55" model (link), so I'm not sure that will work. And of course it's not lost on me that if I'm going to spend all this money on new parts I might as well just buy a new 4K HDR TV.

    Thanks in advance!

    Mike

Mostly the memory is broken. You can trade the EEprom for a blank one. The describes itself the first time turn on again, but with you the BGA itself will be broken. With Samsung, you can change the panel in the service menu and with a little luck, the main of the 55 inch will go with you.

    Greetings Thomas

Samsung UE60KU6079 backlight okay mainboard responsive, no picture, no sound
      by Ierwin
      Hello everyone,
Ive got a UE60KU6079 on the workbench that is giving me some headaches trying to troubleshoot.
The previous owner stated that there had been white dots on the screen which from the description sounded like some lenses fell of the backlight LEDs.
He had opened the TV from the back, trying to get to the backlight, supposedly gave up, reassebled everything and gave the TV to me.
I expected the worst like ripped COF cables or a cracked panel but could not find anything like that yet.
Anyway I still fully expect that there has been something seriously damaged...

Samsung UN60EH6000F Black Screen, Backlight and Sound Good. Power Cycle Returns Picture
      by Mgiffune
I have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.

I ordered a supposedly ‘new' Tcon board this time, and

Samsung TV HG46EB690QB No picture, only backlight when disconnected mainboard
      by Henke
I came across a Samsung tv that does not seem to start up. When i plug it in nothing happens except that the red led turns on. But when i disconnect the mainboard, the backlight turns on and immediately turns back off when i connect the mb again.

I have tried to disconnect one, none and both cable(s) from the Tcon to the screen but it makes no differens. The PSU seems to work, but when the mb is connected one of the 5V cycles high and low.

      Anyone with inputs?...

      by grimreaper420
      hey guys,

i bought 2 samsung odyssey g9's for a decent price. they both have the exact same fault. when plugged into a power source, the blue led powerlight shows, but when turned on there is no picture, no backlight, no menu, nothing. when plugged into a laptop the laptop recognises the monitor, but keeps disconnecting and reconnecting.

dont have any schematics or diagrams unfortunately. any ideas?

      thanks

Samsung un55cu7000d with backlight and sound No Video / Picture
      by gl4709
I am working on a Samsung un55cu7000d which has backlights and audio. There is no picture. This model does NOT have a separate TCON board. Before I order a main board I would like to try and confirm that the issue is not in the display. The ribbon cable from the main board goes directly to the display and I can then disconnect the left from the right. When I disconnect the right side the display lights up on one side but has no video being displayed. Can you all give me some guidance on how to confirm the main board is the issue.
