    RCA 46LB45RQ solarization effect

Hi all! I have an RCA 46LB45RQ that came to me dead. I replaced the EEPROM on the main board with one I bought off of eBay that matched my set (ver B1). Now I have a picture and audio, but it looks solarized (see attached photo). The solarization affects both the displayed image AND the OSD.

My question - do you think it's:
    1) A bad t-con?
    2) A misprogrammed replacement EEPROM (maybe programmed for an A1 set?) Can a misprogrammed EEPROM even cause this problem?
    3) A secondary problem with the main board?
    ...AND...
    4) Is there any way to test/confirm whether the problem lies in the t-con or the main board?

As always, your help is greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,

i don't think that the eeprom (even if wrong) could be to blame.

on the t-con, test the vgma test points. there will probably be around 20 of them.
WHY CAN'T PHILIPS USE PHILLIPS HEAD SCREWS?

It certainly looks like a solarized screen but I would first check in the service menu to make certain it's set up for the led panel fitted in the set.
Willing to help but I'm no expert.

This worked! I found this youtube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pbffKtXjTog
When I changed the LVDS map setting on my TV from "default" to any 'B' setting (6-bit B, 8-bit B, 10-bit B) the picture cleared right up. Not sure which setting is the correct setting, but I chose "10-bit B" because it sounded the best.

Thanks so much for the help!

TCL 50S535 bad tcon or panel issue?
          by x_orange90_x
Just bought this for 10 bucks yesterday hoping to fix it. The guy said water dropped inside from a dehumidifier hose and it started showing black and white vertical bars then went blank. When I got it home and turned it on it came on fine and displayed correctly but I was noticing faint vertical bars in the image. After a little bit I turned it off and back on and it was a black screen again. I opened it up to check for water damage and corrosion but didn't find anything of the sort. I cleaned the ribbons anyway and reconnected them but still got a blank screen. If I disconnect the right side...

          93C46 and 93C56 EEPROM
          by SidneyCanadas
I tore apart my instrument cluster for my 2008 Toyota Corolla made in 2007 in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada and pcb location: IC6=EEPROM is a surface mounted device with part # of 93C46W7, some claim the EEPROM out of a Camry part # 93C56 will allow odometer to roll over 299 999 KM or miles. The data sheet for both is below:

          https://cdn.badcaps-static.com/pdfs/...c6e42b20d3.pdf 2

Anyone know if the Camry one will work on my Corolla?. And which EEPROM reader/writers do you all recommend I purchase that will allow me to read the old values of the old...

Driving a Sharp TCON/panel with a universal main board
          by advant
This thread is about trying to get an Universal Main Board to work with a Sharp TCON and panel.

I have a Sharp LC-46D85UN TV that has had a main board issue. Since this model is from 2009, I am not able to find an exact replacement of the main board. Instead, I decided to see if I can future proof this tv by getting a Universal Main Board (T53U21.2) from China to work with the Sharp TCON (CPWBX4291TPZA) and panel. The universal main board supports a 8 bit dual channel LVDS interface whereas the TCON requires a 10 bit dual channel LVDS input. I have modded the LVDS connector to match...

Sony 8K XBR-75Z8H White Screen Vertical Bars Tcon Code. Help Needed🙏
          by Daren87
          Hello everyone,

I've recently been given a Sony 8k Z8H. It's got a white screen with two vertical black bars. At times it's given me the 5 blink Tcon code. Testing voltage on the Tcon I can see some low or missing voltage. I've done a basic visual check of cables and the COF. Not seeing anything obvious. The original Tcon seemed to have good caps until turning it over. On the bottom I found maybe 10 caps with both sides of the caps shorting to ground. I thought ok these caps and likely other components on the Tcon are shorted so let's try a replacement Tcon. I just received the...

QN65QN90A - Mainboard MLCC failed - now bootloop
          by l0lhaxz1
          Hi

I have a QN65QN90A which was purchased around launch I guess making it about 1.5-2 years old... had been working fine until a few days ago, simply went black and would no longer turn on (at all). No standby light and no typical PSU relay click etc. Absolutely dead.

Pulled it apart without doing much research first, suspecting the power supply as it had a faint buzz (I guess due to the forthcoming found short), investigated PSU for some time and concluded there was no fault that I could spot with the board removed.

Came to learn after a bit more research...
