Sharp Acqos LC-40L650X no start but **+%#!!

Due to various reasons haven't looked at any sets for a number of weeks but had a bit of spare time yesterday so decided to take this set back off to test voltages etc. due to no start. Measured between legs of main capacitor on PSU and curses as voltage fluctuating between 180 - 410v. But then checked a connector and a stable 12v found. So been here before as budm knows and he is right that this really can't be so. So watched dmm carefully and noted that now and then battery icon displayed itself. Further checking showed the dmm fluctuations only happened on the high voltages and not on lower ones even on same scale. Now previously I had cross checked with my other dmm and been bamboozled when it also showed fluctuations. But they are both the same make and checking the batteries both are down a bit!!! So both have been giving me false indications but I emphasise only on the high voltages. Live and learn.

When you check the batteries, you need to have load connected.

Got back to this set finally - have been laid low with heavy cold. The strange wire type connector is P3 with 23 wires and I give details below, the others are CN8 with 9 x Gnd and 5 x 24v all read OK, and the 4 wire is PNL 2 x Gnd and 2 x 12v with nothing shown. Basically as far as i ascertain nothing happens from standby due to error in that no PNL on signal is generated to PSU from mainboard.

      BL ON

      KEY2. 3.1V

Voltages as shown all else nil reading. Not very familiar at all with this make of set so any input welcome.

If you have P-ON: 2.9V I would think either the Main Bd. is not sending the PNL-ON and BL-ON signals. The S-BY is 3.2V. Perhaps you could disconnect the connector from PSU to Main Bd. and connect a 1Kohm resistor across the S-BY pin and the P-ON pin, another 1Kohm across S-BY pin and BL-ON pin and a third 1Kohm across S-BY pin and PNL-ON pin and see if the backlights come On and the other voltages appear. If this works then the PSU is OK and we can now investigate the Main Bd.

Powersupply has all the voltages - Monitor still no power
          by Capacitorial
          Hello guys,

I have a Philips 240B7QPJEB. The monitor seems completely dead.
I opened it and measured the voltages of the powersupply. I found that a mosfet was dead and replaced it.
On the connector, that goes to the TCON board, all voltages 15-19V and 5V are present.
The small connector on the left of the PSU has two cables with 18V and all the other have 0.2V. It connects on this small connector on the left ontop of the panel. I guess the backlight? Seens fine I guess.
The weird thing is, that the Power LED is powered over the TCON board.
          On The TCON...

          Sharp LC-60LE633U Inverter output voltages
          by organman
Greetings, I have a Sharp LC-60LE633U when powered up only the V light comes on. I have checked the LED strips and they all light up. When the LED's are plugged into the PS board I get an output voltage of 74v DC. If I unplug the LED's the output voltage on the PS is 184v DC. Does this indicate a weak PS?
          Thanks...

Sharp Aquos Quattron LC-52LE835X Totally Dead, no output voltages
          by Joekhoe
Hello all, I'm Joekhoe, a newbie here and ask your masters permissions and solutions for the problem i'm facing at the present.

I am in the middle of working on a SHARP Smart TV model LC-52LE835X from my customer, which totally dead and there's no output voltages at all at the output pins even though i have replace some of the components the output voltages remain the same with 0 volt.

          The replacement as follows:
          1. IC7905 : TNY264PN (first found exploded)
          2. Q7915 : BT169D (exploded too)
          3. IC7901 : 1608B (controller ic)
          4. IC7601 :...

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
          by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

          Assuming...
