Samsung UN65KS6500 - boards have no screws - clips instead - how to remove

    Hello.

I just picked up a Samsung curved TV model UN65KS8500. To my surprise, the main board and power supply do not have screws, but rather "Clips" of some sort that secure the boards. I cannot seem to release the boards. Short of damaging them, is there a trick to removing the parts? Maybe there is a special tool required?

    Any help is much appreciated..thanks

I don't remember but the metal lugs stay with the board, so either the board lifts up slightly and slides over or the metal lugs get pushed down slightly and the board slides to the side.

I found the same problem after finally getting the back off of a 43” Samsung with no screws. Did you figure out how to remove the power supply and main board also???

Try to spread your fingers out to where each clip is and look at the slide direction by looking at the open notch. Pull up slightly where those clips are and slide the board over and out. When you re-install make sure each clip goes under the hole before you slide it over so they all get under the clips at the same time. South Korean engineers with too much time on their hands. Just bring the screws back.

^^^ +1 on above. I did a Samsung UN50NU6900 and it was very simple to remove the boards.

The only trick was the power supply the LED connector mates directly to the power supply board, so you almost need three hands to pull up and towards the outside slightly while also releasing the LED connector clip by pushing down.

Oh and just a bit of further info that Samsung UN50NU6900 that is only 3 years old had bad LED's. Unfortunately the owner attempted to repair after watching a YouTube video saying to hit the side of the TV - now it has a broken screen.

I figured out just slightly lift the edges on the right side of the board and push to the left..
That works for the main board but I noticed on the 43” Samsung’s that you have the led connector. So not sure about the power supply.

                Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....
