LN-T4066F Strange startup issue and maybe dead pixels?

Hi guys and gals, got a strange one here. When I start it up I get a flash of red across the entire screen and then it runs just fine except for a horizontal line across the screen. The person who brought it to me said it wouldn't power on but I didn't experience that.

I tore it down and checked for any obvious issues such as bulging caps or burnt components but all looks OK. I see that many of these have bad caps but I've never seen this particular video issue before.

The issue doesn't change when I tap or squeeze on the edges of the panel. Also I can only see the line from the top or bottom but not when directly viewing it if that makes any sense.

I uploaded a video so maybe one of you can have a look. Tempted to just buy some caps and see but maybe could be a tab issue? Doesn't look like anything I've seen before.

    Thanks.

Try a factory reset, if that don't work try a firmware update, I always try those first because they don't cost anything.

Help Needed: Samsung UE55MU8000 Dead - Possible Main Board Issue
      by Asraf Atb
      Hi everyone,

Im looking for some advice regarding my Samsung UE55MU8000 TV with main board model BN94-11606C. The TV suddenly stopped turning on and now shows no signs of life at all not even the standby light at the bottom.

Initially, I suspected an issue with the PSU, so I took it to a repair center. They tested it and confirmed that the PSU works perfectly, even on other TVs. Based on that, I started investigating the main board.

I disconnected the main board from the PSU, and the backlight turned on, which seems to confirm the main board is the issue....

Eufy Floodlight Cam 2 Pro Dead. Power Supply issue...
      by KYBOSH
I have a floodlight-security camera that recently died on me.

its hardwired to 115v po115v outlet. One evening it simply died. After some troubleshooting (ensuring it had power and ensuring the electronics were actually functional by supplying 5v via usb port) i realized the power supply must be the issue. The supply was noticably warm to the touch even though it was not powering anything.

Trying to understand what i was up against i went looking for others with similar issues and anyone who might have attempted a repair. While a few ppl have had the...

Nikon D5 – dead, power board issue ?
      by corrize
Hello, the DSLR has heavyly fallen. It is dead : no sign of life and display nothing.

When it worked, it always displayed a card present state on LCD display, even when the battery is empty it display a empty battery symbol.
I found a dead fuse, I replaced it and a mosfet burnt, I changed it and another fuse burned. Nothing burned after. And I can't find any short circuit anywhere, it's weird.

Now, I try to understand how it works.

There is two boards (the little one on pictures has no component) : the first is a « power board » : managing...

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
      by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

      Assuming...

MacBook Air A2337 (820-02016) USB-C Port Issue – Only Works in One Orientation (CC Line Problem?)
      by rounin
      Hi everyone,

I'm working on a MacBook Air 2020 (A2337, board 820-02016) and running into a strange USB-C issue. I've gone through quite a bit of testing and part replacement, but I'm stuck — hoping someone here can shed some light.

      🛠 Original Issue
      The machine initially wouldn't negotiate 20V over USB-C — stuck at 5V.
Diagnosis showed PP1V5_UPC0_LDO_CORE shorted to ground.

I replaced U3100 (UF400) using a donor board (A2179), and the machine powers on fine now.
