    sharp lc-55le653u

neighbor gave me this sharp tv when he moved, said it died. I plugged it in and it came on normally, then shut its self off in 5 mins. left unplugged for an hour and powered it back on, worked again for about an hour then shut its self off again. Now nothing, no power, no standby light- no power at all.
test top power lead from PS supply to main board. have 19v across 3 terminals that is correct, but do not have 5v ps on stand by. figured was PS board, bought a used board from ebay, installed, same syptoms with no power, no stand by 5v at main plug from ps to main board. both board don't show any bad caps or burnt solder point or parts.
what should be my next troubleshooting steps?? Hate to throw out this nice screen. any help is greatly appeciated!!

Well focused and sharp photo's of your circuit boards and how they interconnect. If you could give the voltages at the connector going to the main board and the pin name alongside (legend normally printed on the board). Power supply number. All a good start to fault finding.
Something similar to the chart below makes for easier reading.

On these SHARP TVs there is no 5V StBy voltage, the 19V that you are getting at plug-in is the StBy voltage. DO NOT connect the 19V StBy voltage to PS-ON to test the PSU, this will damage it. Your problem though is a Main Bd. issue.

attached the photos of the boards. The legend for power off of the PS board is only printed on the PS.
        10- DIM2
        9- DIM1
        8- BLU_ON
        7- PS_ON
        6- GND
        5- GND
        4- GND
        3- 19V
        2- 19V
        1- 19V

I have 120acv coming in to PS board, with main fused above connection testing good.
As I stated, I have 19v across 1-3 at the PS and it continues to the main board when power cord is connected. No power/voltage anywhere else through that connector. no bulging caps or burnt parts that I can see.
        next step??

So the main board is getting the 19V for it to run but it is not sending any control Voltages on pin 7 ~10 at all, ZERO Volt as you report, so something is going on with the main board.

Driving a Sharp TCON/panel with a universal main board
            by advant
This thread is about trying to get an Universal Main Board to work with a Sharp TCON and panel.

I have a Sharp LC-46D85UN TV that has had a main board issue. Since this model is from 2009, I am not able to find an exact replacement of the main board. Instead, I decided to see if I can future proof this tv by getting a Universal Main Board (T53U21.2) from China to work with the Sharp TCON (CPWBX4291TPZA) and panel. The universal main board supports a 8 bit dual channel LVDS interface whereas the TCON requires a 10 bit dual channel LVDS input. I have modded the LVDS connector to match...

Hi and thanks in advance for any input you might provide!
I have a Sceptre U550CV-UMRD8POTV83BB 4K LED (this is a dumb tv) that I bought new in August 2021, so It's just completed 3 years.

Last Sunday I was watching a dvd and fell asleep for about half hour, when I awoke the tv screen was black and couldn't get the dvd menu to show, so I changed the input to antenna and had sound but no picture, turned it off. I then got online and found this great site! ....read many troubleshooting tips and this...

LG 55NANO77SRA TV – Menu scrolling by itself even after removing button board (Main Board EBU66792103)
            by ygorsan
            Hi everyone,

I’m looking for help with a persistent issue on an LG TV model 55NANO77SRA, which uses the main board EBU66792103 (also used in LG UQ80 and NANO75/NANO80 series).

            🧩 Problem Summary:
            • The TV keeps scrolling through the menu or selecting items by itself.
            • I removed the physical button board (the entire panel with power and volume buttons) and also disconnected the flat cable (CN202) from the main board.
            • The remote control is not in use (batteries removed), and the TV still shows the same behavior.

            Sony xbr-65x900c main board issues?
            by jb_Bak
Hey guys great forum glad to have found it. I bought a Sony XBR 65X900C cheaply because it didn't work. No signs of life at all not even a light/led. All I hear is a brief high voltage sound when I throw the power to it.

Didn't see any obvious signs of damage so right away started checking voltages. This is what I see:
Power Board Connector that goes to Main board
            CN6401
            Pin 01 NC
            Pin 02 NC
            Pin 03 "BL_ON": 0V
            Pin 04 "N/C"
            Pin 05 "STBY 3.3V": 3.5V
            Pin 06 "GND": N/C
            Pin 07 "AC_OFF"...

(SOLVED) - ONN 100012588 No Power, Then Rebooting After Main Board Change
            by JDC
            ONN 100012588
Issue: No Power, Then Rebooting After Main Board Change

Short answer: replace main board and power board
Technical answer: replace main board and Q306 & Q307 on power board.

            Long answer:

TV wouldn't turn on. Power switch was fine which means the main board isn't processing the power on signal. Replaced main board. TV turns on now but randomly reboots. Bad main board? EEPROM? Tried to pull main board and got a shock touching the corner of the board. That's weird. C334 (450V 10uf) capacitor is still holding a high charge....
