Samsung UN55eh6070fxza

Hi everyone,

With the help of threads on this forum I've repaired a couple of TVs and monitors and been using them quite successfully. Up until now they've all been power supply issues so I don't have a lot of experience with image quality/panel issues.

Recently I found a un55eh6070fxza on the side of the road. I was surprised and hopeful when it powered on, but as the picture came up realized why it was in the trash. At first the picture looks semi-normal. Some fuzz on the lower left side, and the displayed text looking like every other horizontal line is missing. Then it quickly dissolves into a white screen, with a thickish horizontal line across the bottom, black spot in the top right corner, and a doubled image.

I'm happy to do preliminary troubleshooting, but I've read that horizontal lines typically mean a panel problem so I thought I'd post here before I started tearing it apart and checking voltages to save myself the trouble if it's not economically feasible to repair.

either a bad tab bond, driver or a bad panel, I'd say.

Thanks for the input. When I get a chance I may try pulling it apart and pressing on the tab bonds and see if that makes a difference. With your lead I did some googling and It looks like Samsung may have had an issue with these and some people have had success using a taped pad on top of the bonds. Worth a shot...

Also clean all these ribbon cables.
