Pioneer Plasma PDP-6020FD 8 blue blinks one orange blink

One of my family members has a pioneer 60” plasma model PDP-6020FD that has shutdown with 8 blue blinks. I read on this forum about using the factory remote and pressing the display button to get the subcategory of the problem that caused it to shutdown. Had them use the remote and also had one orange blink along with the 8 blue flashes. Hopefully will have a chance this weekend to go over there and check some voltages. I read about a voltage regulator that could be causing the shutdown. One of the first checks I'm going to make when I get over there will be checking the input and output on that regulator. I don't have the service manual to interpret the flashes so if anyone has any information on this issue I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you

Don't forget to post clear focused pics of top and bottom views of the boards, how they are interconnected, etc.

        The manual says:
Blue 8 Orange 1 = Failure in IIC communication with the main microcomputer [Tuner 1] IIC communication line between Tuner and MAIN. Possible Defective Part U5301,IC7003. Check the communication lines (SCL_TU/SDA_TU or SCL_AV/SDA_AV).

        The manual is here:

Downloaded manual. Thank you for that. I’ll look for the culprit when I’m able to make it over there and take a look with my meter. I’ll update when I do. Thank you for your help.

There's an NJM2846 1.8V regulator on the AV/audio board that causes this fault. A burst of freeze spray will usually briefly bring the set to life. The part needs to be replaced using a hot air gun, don't try and use a soldering iron as you'll damage other boards on the board.

Ok. Thank you for the information. I saw where you had posted about this same issue. That was my first component to check. Hate to order the chip before I have an opportunity to test but think I’ll pull the trigger on it and order from mouser. Saw this was the issue with many of them. Thank you Tom66

Got a call this morning. It seems to be working fine now but I’m sure that will change shortly. Got the voltage regulator on the way for the future. Thanks everyone. I’ll update this when it finally fails. Kevin

Pioneer Kuro Pro 111FD 8 blink red LED.

I have been trying to solve the power-down 8-blink red LED problem with my Pioneer.

So far I have replaced the power supply board, and the digital assembly board, I have reconnected the ribbons to all boards, ensuring the connections are good. Even though the problem is the 8 red light error and not the more common 8 blue light error code, I had Kcrownie,
based in North Carolina replace the chips that cause the 8 blue LED problem (the main board and audio board) the plasma is still powering...

                    Hello to all,

                    New laptop to troubleshoot.
It power on , fan spin , no image, no light on caps lock.
Power light is blinking orange .(not an error blink) just orange blinking.
You press power button again , again it powers up fan spin ,and then cuts off.

                    What i tried?
Removed everything only board, and external monitor left on , and powered with bridge to the power button (in case it was the problem)
Tried reset RAM ,new RAM , re-flashed bios dump ,from thread that i found here again all the time the same behaviour. With any kind...

Panasonic ZT60 plasma tv with strange behavior and 8 blink code
                    by cloo
I recently got my hands on a 60" Panasonic P60ZT60 plasma tv (european model) that has some strange issues along with an 8 blink code.
It know this tv is getting old but it was once considered one of the best plasmas ever made, and i think it is still holds on to that even by todays standards.

So, long story short. When i first got the tv it had a very bright washed out picture with very raised blacks in all picture modes and i couldn't find the cause in the picture setting menus.
After doing a factory reset this problem was gone and the picture was back to...

                    Pioneer LX5090 - 2x Red blink after auto-shutdown
                    by janos666
I was trying to reset the Pulse Meter and re-adjust the Panel-1/2 settings in the SM on an exceptionally old Pioneer LX5090 (51k power-on hours according to it's SM). I did this many times on much less aged specimens (with 10-20k hours) without issues. After following the usual workflow, I noticed the darkest gray shade showed up black with bright sparkles. I tried to adjust some other parameters but it didn't disappear. Then I went on and restored the old values of the parameters I don't usually touch (although I did this from memory, so I might have made an error). After that, I started going...

Un50cu7000 2 blink oddity *partially solved
                    by EazyBone
I write this to maybe help another with this TV.

So I aquired this TV a 2023 model. It started the 2 blink reboot problem which indicates bad panel. It was still under warranty and the repair man came by.

The Samsung repairman brought a brand new panel and switched my original boards to the new panel. The new panel then had the 2 blink error code. The repair guy said he has seen this and the MAIN board on this model will cause the 2 blink. He then replaced the main/power board (they are both connected) and put it back onto my original panel. Voila it worked.
