Yea, and replacing that is way above my paygrade..

The replacement TCON for the U55 was $15... The replacement TCON for the U60 is like $115...

Life ain't fair..

Oh come on. A $100 hot air station and a $20 flux can are all you need. And the flux will be good for 1 year if you keep it in a cold place.

I am getting on in my years.. My hands ain't as steady as they used to be..

same as, im 50 this year and get odd hand shake issues also eye sight getting worse using reading glasses now but hey wont stop me from doing repairs just yet.

OK, update...

Speaking specifically to the UN55EH TV...

I have replaced the Power PCB, the Video Main PCB, the TCON, the LVDS Cables and the tab connectors that go from the TCON to the Panel PCB...

Nothing works.. I still get the tones, the backlight, but nothing on the display panel..

By process of elimination, that leaves the Panel or Panel PCBs as the issue..

Anyone else see another possibility???

that lil board where the tab bonds are on? Maybe a cap or so is shorted?

I pulled the front bezel off and inspected the Panel boards... No burns or blemishes.. All looks perfect...

Maybe the replacement mainboard was bad? quite a head scratcher, looks like you replaced most everything.

Yea, I have like 4 or 5 Main boards.. While it's possible that they all are bad/incompatible it's not likely.. Would be nice if I had a working model that I could swap parts over... which happens more often than ya might think...

But not this time.

It's one of those ones I usually just put aside until I DO get a working one in..

Unfortunately, it's a customers and I am under a time constraint.. Like today..

Something that may or may not mean anything..

When I put in the replacement MAIN board and the replacement TCON board, when the TV powers up, there is no backlight.. No latent image, of course, but no backlight either..

When I disconnect the LVDS cable from the MAIN or TCON, I get the backlight...

I dunno if this is just indicative of an incompatibility or something more meaningful..

check the LVDS with the oscilloscope, turn the menu on and off all the time while probing the lvds.

Did you watch the video I gave you the link too? In there he shows the voltages before and after repair. The t-con you bought is probably bad also as they are known to blow the little buck converter on them.

that is true. But in his case I think one of the new boards is a dud.

Maybe check that t-con matches panel numbers and check that all boards are at least on the compatible board list, they usually want you to match up a certain amount of numbers on the white sticker to insure compatibility.

Had similar problem with sony, turned out to be a simple firmware re-apply did the trick.
