    Sony KDL-32BX310 hot LDO regulator

    This is an interesting one. I got this TV in for repair that initally turns on but has no sound. Everything else seems to work. Oddly enough if I attempt to do a factory reset in the service menu I get upon start up the usual information about English Spanish or French then the TV start flickering and the picture goes out back lights still on. If I unplug the TV and plug it back in I'm back to my HDMI source with picture no sound. Also after about 10 minutes of operation the HDMI source will start to flicker and go out. If I freeze spray this regulator I get sound and picture.

    All voltages coming off the regulator seemed to be consistit. 12 V in and a 5 V and 3 V out. So obviously it is a dual duty LDO. Part number 00ga5w. RoHM.

    I'm going to try to replace the regulator but I have a feeling that it may be a load issue. What would you think about this?
    Did I leave the soldering iron on?

      Replace the regulator and report back, these complex power chips are sometimes too complex for their own good.

                  Do you have the spec sheet for this 00ga5w? All I found is the single output type:https://cdn.badcaps-static.com/pdfs/...aff348f913.pdf.
                  May be it is oscillating due to bad caps.

                          OK, it is just a adjustable LDO regulator IC with Enable ON/OFF pin.

                              Hi,

                              i want to repair a Sony KD-75XF9005 TV that initially only showed a grey picture.
                              Backlight seems to work, Sound (Setup menu after reset) works.
                              If i dissconnect the left FFC cable from TCON to panel i have half a screen on the right. If left cable is connected always only the grey screen.
                              Interchanged the cables, its always only the right side that is working. Always grey if left side is connected.
                              With my small knowledge i would think at least the cables are good.

                              Can this happen because of a bad tcon board?
                              Or is it always a bad/shorted...

                              Sony XBR 49x900E - Sound and backlight on but no picture

                              Hey Guys,

                              So a few months ago my Sony XBR 49x900e TV screen stopped displaying the picture but the backlight comes on and I still get sound when I use the remote and navigate to certain apps. I haven't checked anything with the meter yet but started with ordering some replacement boards. I've tried replacing the BMKS board (used from ebay) and also completed the firmware upgrade based on Nicks TV repairs youtube video. I've also replaced the TCON (twice) and PIB.

                              All of these changes have resulted in the same issue with no picture. I've also tried disconnecting the ribbons...

                              Hi, I have a Samsung UE50TU with:
                              - sound and backlight, but no picture
                              - when it arrived, it had a picture for a few seconds
                              - it keeps rebooting
                              - without ribbon cable between the two panel boards, it does not reboot but I have no picture
                              - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel, it does not reboot (but obviously i have no picture)
                              - when i try a tape fix, its keeps rebooting, unless I tape off pin 1 (the innermost pin). In that case it does not reboot but I have no picture.

                              This forum has been in great help to me, but I stumbled upon a strange problem with a salvaged Samsung TV that I am banging my head to troubleshoot.

                              PSU: L48S6 FHS BN44-00807D
                              T-Con: BN95-01937A
                              Panel: CY-GJ048HGLVLH
                              MB: NA (Currently as the TV is assembled and forgot to take picture)

                              I have a Sony KD-43XE8005 with no picture on the TV when powered on. Audio and backlight work ok when powering on. Solid white indication light showing on front of tv bezel.

                              When removing the left hand ribbon cable from the T-con board, a white image is displayed on that half of the screen and a black screen is shown on the right. If I gently rub the ribbon cable on the right an image or purple black bars appear. The cable doesnt appear damaged, and if swapped with the other ribbon cable the same flickering symptoms can be seen.
