    LG 42LE5310 being very forgetful

Hello, I have a LG TV (yes one of those)

that won't tune in any channels, hdmi and everything else works.
the other weird thing is it forgets the time when reset.

and ive tried resolving the pins around the DVB circuit,

would the theory of the ROM chip be corrupt?
the tv trying to write the time and channel info and it getting lost?
all voltages on the board look fine.

also how does the tv keep the time going when turned off?

and what is that button on the main board for? im curious..... but I don't want to push it in case the END OF ZE WROLD!

    cheers.

Try a factory reset, looks like you can do it from your menu, if that don't work try a firmware update or reapply.

What is your EXACT process, when you are trying to tune channels?

Switch off TV. (Completely off, not just standby). Unplug aerial lead. Power up and switch on TV.

Go to yor settings and do scan for channels. (Obviously it won't find anything but let it complete the scan anyway.)

When complete, switch off/power off again.

            Re-connect aerial lead.

Power on/switch on again. Repeat scan. Works in some instances.

Could be your tuner is messed up, you can replace them, without much trouble.

I would open up the coax port on the main board and make sure that the center line and the ground is connected to the board especially in the solder areas as it could have broken loose, this is a very common problem.
Did I leave the soldering iron on?

Sophos XG86w Firewall forgets the date and time as well as the DMI environment variables after power cycle
                      by juergenb
                      Hello,

I have a small Sophos XG86w firewall here, which is still working so far. But there is a problem with the BIOS and the DMI environment variables.

The hardware forgets the date and time after a reboot or a power failure.
The DMI environment variables are also reset to default values.

I have now tried 2 different batteries (CR2032).
I reset the DMI vars via an EFI shell and with AMIDEEFI64 (v5.21.0057).

However, after a reboot or a power cycle, these values are reset again.

It is an Apollo Lake platform with an Intel...

Gaming Laptop Zephyrus S17 TFT not detected every time !
                      by titomno2
                      Hi guys,
I post my problem here because I think it could be a capacitor related issue (Asus support on this particular subject is non-existing).
So the computer is a Zephyrus-S17-GX735LXS-26T and the strange behavior is seen.
On cold start most of the time the internal screen is detected and a picture it works fine until shutdown, sleep or deep sleep.
Then the screen won't work for a long period of time.
If I wait 1 or 2 hours it work again most of the time.
When it doesn't work the batterie indicator blink 3 times white stop and the same schematic is repeated...

Adding a clock battery to action camera to retain date&time when changing batteries Campark X25
                      by flat-earther
I have a cheap action camera with an annoying trait, every time I change batteries the date & time gets reset and I have to set it again.

To solve this problem I want to add a small internal battery inside it which will keep supplying power to the camera for a while while I change batteries so the date & time is retained.

I have opened the camera and I think there is enough room to add something inside to accomplish this:

The camera is powered by a 3.7V nominal single cell lithium ion battery.
So I need to connect another battery in...

HP Pavilion dm4-1065dx long time to get the power led on
                      by OscarAV
                      Hello,

I just came here to see if someone has had the same problem I have, and if he or she solved It, to know how to do It.

I have made a quick search for my laptop but I have not seen anything similar.

I have an old laptop, an HP Pavilion dm4-1065dx which takes a lot of time to be ready to start if the laptop has been unplugged for a while. It has no battery. The battery failed long time ago. It needs to be plugged to work. But as I said, It can take a lot of time until the charging led gets on, and I can switch on the laptop. I am using an external monitor...

Pioneer RM-07 Active monitors cutting out from time to time
                      by BigOof
I have a pair of Pioneer RM-07 monitors that I bought a while ago. When I was testing them I noticed that one speaker would cut out and I thought it was just a bad cable connection. At the price they were being sold for I was willing to take a risk on them. However, 6 months later and the one monitor still has the same issue. Most of the time it works, but there are times that the power LED is on but I get absolutely no sound. I can hear the relay clicking on/off sometimes and then it will/won't work depending on what it feels like. I've tried XLR and RCA inputs with the same issue. There's no...
