HP Pavilion dm4-1065dx long time to get the power led on

    Hello,

I just came here to see if someone has had the same problem I have, and if he or she solved It, to know how to do It.

I have made a quick search for my laptop but I have not seen anything similar.

I have an old laptop, an HP Pavilion dm4-1065dx which takes a lot of time to be ready to start if the laptop has been unplugged for a while. It has no battery. The battery failed long time ago. It needs to be plugged to work. But as I said, It can take a lot of time until the charging led gets on, and I can switch on the laptop. I am using an external monitor and an external keyboard too. I am using the original adapter, and I have checked that gives the proper voltage.

There are many many components and I don't know what to check. Maybe some people have had the same problem, and if they managed to fix It, I can do the same to fix It too.

Thank you very much for your attention.

    Regards

Make a request for clean me bios while posting your existing copy of bios in "Bios Section"
This is the first step under such scenario.

Thanks a lot. I went to the BIOS section, and read the guides there, but just to be sure before I post anything there. I downloaded two files, a BIOS configuration utility, sp143621.exe, and a HP UEFI Support Environment, sp61101.exe.

When I run the configuration utility on the cmd,

It gives me an error, system not supported, unable to connect to HP WMI namespace:'root\HP'

Then, I tried to install HP UEFI Support Environment, but It asks me to do a partition, and before accepting, I want to ask.

I changed the original hard drive to an SSD one.

I believe that at some point I updated the BIOS. In any case, in System Information on Windows 7 64 bits, the BIOS information says

      BIOS Version/Date Hewlett Packard F.27, 21/12/2011
      SMBIOS Version 2.6

I don't know if I could post this right on the BIOS section, so just in case I post It here before.

      Thank you very much.

HP Pavilion 15 bc400ns - Complete Black Screen - Only video on live usb
        by iZakre
        Hello everybody!

To put you in context I recently replaced the battery from my HP Pavilion 15 bc400ns with a used one, everything was going good. The same day, I decided to update the BIOS, everything went good. The thing occurred after I let the battery drain iddling on Windows 11 for the second time to calibrate it that the screen did not turn on again, the computer was on but the screen did not turn, like it would not wake from hibernation. I decided to restart the computer but got no video.

The thing is that I had installed TeamViewer and could log into the computer...

        ASUS TP500LA BIOS request/repair/merge?
        by jbonavita
Hi, my laptop wont boot at all
With original bios no POST, only LED lights
With alternative BIOS from model TP500LN (flashed via programmer) the notebook works again
        Some issues
        A- with bios from 500LN, it won't update from bios of model 500LA (from 500LN v203 to 500LA v300)
B- If updated from 500LN version 203 to 300, the battery stops being recognized

        Things I tried

1- Update / clear ME: Took the non working bios, made a backup, and did this: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...theory/trouble...

[REQUEST] Dell G3 3579 BIOS Password & AMI Protected Range/BIOS Guard Unlock
        by zenius
Hello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.

Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,...

Lenovo Thinkbook 15 G2 ITL i5 (serial number: MP2BFZEF) bios request
        by Wahaz
        Hello,

I have a Lenovo Thinkbook 15 G2 ITL i5 Laptop (serial number: MP2BFZEF) that when I turn it on, the led on the power button lights up for 5 seconds, then goes out. There's no display and nothing happens.
So I thought it was a Bios problem.
I found 3 bios chips on the board, which I read with a bios programmer: two XMC model bios chips and a Winbond model bios chip. Each XMC model bios chip has two partitions named XM25QH128A [3.3V] and XT25F128A [3.3V]. And the Winbond model bios chip has three partitions named W25Q80BL 3.3V, W25Q80xV 3.3V and W25Q80DV 3.3V....
