no backlight at all
flashlight shows tv image and has sound
caps visually look good, no doming, no leaking
i only have a multimeter, no sophisticated testing equipment.
ideas..?

I can see that the LED backlights power supply section got really hot there, the board turns dark brown, right by the LED connector, you need to check the Diodes in that section where it gets very hot.
You know how to use your meter properly, right?
You also need to provide straight shot pictures of the whole top and bottom side of that power supply board.
What is your power supply board P/N? BN44-?????

BTW, try disconnecting the cable between the min board and the power supply board and then plug the power cord into the outlet to see if the backlights will come on right away and stay on as long as the power cord is plugged into the outlet.
