    Panasonic tc-55as680u in Protection?

    Hi Guys,

I have the same model build date is Feb 2015. My symptoms are a steady blink from the power light and nothing else. One blink 3 seconds one blink. I have the back off and it has 5V standby power but not the 16V to the main board. When I plug it in here is a black relay that clicks the backlight LEDs flash a couple of times and then clicks again which is when the power light starts flashing again. I am assuming this is a protection relay. When it clicks the first time (I assume on) I get the 16V at the jumper that says SRV 16V. I did disconnect the T-con board and the protection relay still clicked on and off. I am not sure if disconnecting the T-con board isolates the LEDs as the original poster had LED issues causing a similar problem. I hope this is enough to get started and someone is willing to help. Can someone help me isolate this problem?

My skills are mostly self taught and I have been repairing old audio amplifiers and receivers stuff like Marantz Sansui etc so this is all solid state stuff. I have little or no experience with LCD TVs. I certainly do have a multimeter, solder station, Chinese component tester etc.

It would appear to me that the symptoms you describe would be a Failed or failing backlights issue. You need to post pictures of the backside of your TV with the cover removed so we could see how the boards are connected to each other. Without them you would not get much response as we would be guessing as we do not have the TV in front of us. The pictures MUST be clear focused pictures and also close up shots of the connectors and labels of the PSU and main Bds.

Are the pictures I posted OK? I am away from my house for a couple of weeks so I had my brother shoot these.

Wow, really Panasonic? Just blinks that look like a "no signal"/standby blink???

(Except for a 2009 HP CQ 61 that suddenly failed to boot, not even the BIOS! And an LED would blink similar to, if not the same as that, apparently to report a CPU failure...)

I had read in another post that the blink was a one blink code. He had found a bad LED. When I checked voltages I had 5V standby. 16V only for a few seconds when turned on than a relay click and nothing.

Panasonic TH-50PX8EA Black screen, only relay clicks
                  by Rensiee
                  Hello,
I have been reading a few threads on here regarding Panasonic plasma tv's. I've found one thread which explains the same problem as mine, unfortunately the thread has not been completed.
I got a free tv (TH-50PX8EA) from a friend which shows no screen. When plugged in only one red light shows up and when pushing the ON button, the red LED turns of and will only turn on again when pressing the ON button again.

When plugging in the TV i hear two relays click fast and after a few seconds the third relay clicks.
I have measured the voltage in the VSUS line, which...

Samsung LN46b530p7f – relay clicks and backlight cycling, sound OK
                  by momaka
I got this TV a little over a year ago from a coworker from my previous job. It’s a Samsung 46” TV, model number LN46b530p7f.

                  Problem:
                  Backlight cycles On and Off.
Basically, when the TV is turned On, there is a relay click heard from the TV PS board. The relay cycles On and Off 4 times in about 2-3 second intervals. Each of those 4 times, the backlights also cycle On and Off with the relay. The screen TFT isn’t cracked/damaged and appears to work - I can see a “no signal” image when the backlights turn On briefly – though the image is a bit dull/dark....

                  Hello
The red and green LEDs both light up and you can hear the relay click. (no picture, no backlight, no sound)
2-3 seconds later the relay will click again and only the red LED will stay on.

I would be very grateful for any advice or a little help.

Panasonic TC-P65ST50 plasma in protection mode after incident
                  by HonkBeep04
Hello everyone! I picked up this 65" ST50 plasma TV for $80 on Facebook marketplace two weeks ago. I have the basic electronic knowledge of a teenage computer geek, having assembled laptops and PCs and messed with soldering and software.

This afternoon I decided to disassemble it to mitigate a buzzing noise. This is a well known issue for this TV ever since they were new. The popular solution is to replace the loose internal screws for ones with lock washers, preventing any future buzzing. I figured that I could just fully loosen and tighten all of the screws securing the...

                  Aiwa GX-770 Amplifier Protection Circuit
                  by waspie
I am by no means an expert on this type of troubleshooting but I can follow direction real well.

I'm no stranger to using a meter and soldering iron so I'm looking for some help in fixing an old amplifier/system I got. This is part of a system "V-1200" by Aiwa where there are several components. My first problem seems to be the amplifier.

It seems to be in protection. When first turned on I hear the inital relay coming on but never the second relay which is connected to the protection IC. I don't see any obvious bad components on the board. If I ground the...
