Re: LG 47LS4500 backlight and sound, but no display

LG's authorized local dealer is this mom & pop shop nearby called Auner's TV Repair (https://www.facebook.com/AunersTV/). If I told them exactly what's wrong, do you think they would be able to replace the fuse easily? Where could one purchase a fuse?

For confirmation, what is the correct part number on the board I am looking at?

EDIT: Found this handy Sears listing for my model that seems to be helpful, but still want to make sure from you guys: https://www.searspartsdirect.com/mod...4/0333600.html

Are you familiar with soldering of any type? Could just be a blown fuse from wear or overheating. I imagine ATV shop the charge you quite a bit of money but you could try

The part numbers listed on the board right next to the flat cable.. P/N...

, There could be other reasons why the fuse blew like a shorted panel or a bad board so replacing the fuse doesn't yield in the results until you see it function

You could use mouser for this fuse. It's called a pico fuse. Or fast acting littelfuse

Part number appears to be 6870C-0418A

Looks like the board is running around $30 which I'd gladly pay. eBay prices (https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...0C-0418A&rt=nc) seems to be a little more fluctuated. I'd prefer ideally to buy a new board, although a little weary of getting one from the China sellers.

Do you have any trusty site suggestions? I tried ShopJimmy, but they are currently out (http://www.shopjimmy.com/lg-6871l-2969b-t-con-board.htm).

You could try finding a substitute fuse from your TV repair place however it may blow again if there's a problem with the board. You could try an eBay bored sometimes you get lucky

Make sure to get the P/N as printed on the white area on the board: per shopjimmy "Partial part number (2969B) can be found stamped on the board."

"6870C-0418A" That is P/N of the blank board which can be stuffed to make many PCBA (PCB Assembly) thus the 2969B is the P/N of the PCBA.

Placing this here for reference. Also need to make sure the part matches 2969B

Probably just going to buy a new board, looks like some are being sold.

QUESTION THOUGH: In the time I had this TV, from time to time, the screen would snow when another electronic device was turned on in my apartment. After turning off the screen and back on, it worked just fine. I am thinking this has more to do with my apartment complex's electrical not being the best (even though it was built less than 10 years ago).

Thinking back this probably was what caused the issue, does that seem like a logical guess? Just realized that and put 2+2 together.

EDIT: Just grabbed a brand new board that came from a never used exact same model that had a broken screen. (https://www.ebay.com/itm/LG-47LS4500.../152761982704?)

                    Hopefully this is the ticket!

Part came today, 5 days earlier than the original shipping date. Tested the new board with the meter, and this one definitely had conductivity. I disconnected and removed the old board, popped on the new one, hooked it back up, and......

                        It's aliiiiive.........IT'S ALIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVE!!!!!

I'm so happy right now, you guys have no idea. Thank you so very very much for your help; seriously, I genuinely can't thank you enough for helping me.

Good to hear it is working, make sure to turn down the backlights level (not Brightness) to as low as you can on ALL input sources otherwise you will have LED backlights problem.
I am able to set my to 35 and still get good pictures.

Message received loud and clear. I also immediately went into looking for the best surge strip I could get as well. Taking no chances this time around and making sure this doesn't happen again. After reviewing about 8 different sites, the large consensus was it was the Tripp Lite TLP1008TEL (http://a.co/9oLFL4b). Offers top protection and turns off if it can't protect anymore.
