Sanyo 40XR10F stuck at blue light on

This set when plugged in displayed a blue (on) led on front panel whereas standby is red. The PSU gives all correct voltages but no Blon or PWM signal is coming from main. Have been able to force backlights on with main disconnected so all OK except for main where I suspected eeprom problem. So I replaced ic I identified as eeprom with a new blank one to see what would happen - hoping to get a red led on front but absolutely no change still came on with blue led and no response from any button on set or on remote. Why?

I believe you will need to program eeprom.

Yes dskall I was hoping it may self load from somewhere!! Getting the firmware is the problem I at least hoped it would go to red led.

Don't think there is backup to load from. Did you try freezing old chip?

Looks like 803 or 806 is main eeprom. 805 is hdmi. If you have oscilloscope you can check clocks and data. You have pin outs of chips which is big help

when you froze the eeprom was the tv pluged in or unpluged?

Thanks dskall you have just ruined my day!!! Made an assumption on age of set and as the ic spec showed eeprom use. Of course these sets have Sanyo logo come up first and it may well be in separate ic. The 64bit flash memory is now obvious to me and changes everything. Will try freeze on it. R_J for me set off, freeze ic, immediately turn set on.

No UNPLUG tv - freeze ic - THEN plug in tv and turn on. The micro reads the eeprom when the tv is pluged in so it knows what to do. If you try freezing it after its pluged in it has already read the info and if it was bad at that point freezing wont change it.

Thanks R_J and to explain with off I mean not in standby but with no power at all going to PSU. This set has a master on/off. I have seen posts re unplugging sets but if no power in the electrical cord when switched off at pp that should be OK? Really for all sets and particularly Chinese el cheapos I think leaving them in standby all the time is just asking for trouble - whe not in use I turn off at pp (use pp remote control) and over the years have never had to fix one of my own sets. My current 50" TCL now 3years old going well.

Re: Sanyo 40XR10F stuck at blue light on

Well I think I've been switching between sets too much and not retaining and checking info enough. Went off service manual for this set but N803 (16 pin ic) is not incorporated in this particular model. Instead we have N806 an 8pin EN25B32 ic in its space. These sets come on with a red Sanyo logo on screen a few seconds before usual screen so would not be surprised if 2 eeprom used N805 and N806. The HDMI ports 3 off look to have their own ICS NA04 NA05 NA06 just to confuse us. Thought I read somewhere that a service menu input could put flash memory back to original but ........will keep looking and meantime put original N805 back. Freezing only resulted in no blue light and nothing at all until a few minutes later after turn off then on when again the blue led lit all voltages good but no backlight and no reaction from remote or set buttons.

Nintendo 2DS XL – Orange light, no blue light, signs of overheating
                          by Tomylee
Hi everyone, I have a Nintendo 2DS XL that shows the orange charging light when plugged in, but nothing happens when I press the power button — no blue light, no screen, no sound.

                          Here's what I've observed:

All ribbon cables are properly connected

Battery is present and in good condition

No reaction even with screens disconnected

There's a visible burn mark / overheating sign on the metal shield, right above the CPU

I’m suspecting an issue with the CPU, PMIC, NAND, or a power...

Have tried published resets with no help. (unplug for 10, push on-off for 30, push menu and vol +, etc.)

After being plugged in, red light comes on. Push power button and blue light comes on for ~five seconds then goes out. Power button does not turn the unit on a second time - have to unplug/re-plug before power button will try to start with blue light.

No sound, no picture (used flashlight test).

No bulging cap, no burn spots, no burn smells, nothing visual (cold joints/breaks/bugs).

PS5 EDM-033 Blue Light 2 Sec then Powers Off
                          by TurboTundra
Hi, I am waiting for my uart tool so I can grab an error code and narrow down where my issue is, but I decided to measure capacitors and fuses to insure everything was okay.

The PS5 turns on with a blue light and a beep for 1-2 seconds then turns off. I noticed a grey capacitor measures no voltage on standby or input power. Does this indicate a problem with the capacitor or something down on the line? I’m getting 3.3v on input with the red cap next to the grey one, and 5.2v on input with the red cap further away from the grey cap.

                          Thank you for any input...

Insignia NS-LCD019-09 issue: Power light turns blue for 3 seconds, the flashes red before going solid read again
                          by cajoeg
Hello, I'm new to the group and to trying to repair a LCD TV. During the past few years, I've been collecting/repairing/restoring vintage personal computers (Commodore, Apple II, Atari, TRS-80, Texas Instruments, and Timex Sinclair). This has been my retirement hobby. Now I've gotten interested in trying to repair a LCD TV that I have and used regularly when working on vintage computers.

The LCD I'm working on is a Insignia NS-LCD019. I've downloaded the service manual that I could find, but it must be a different revision since not too many items in the service manual match the TV...
