Some TV cards not receiving Australian channels 36-38

I believe this would best fit here, because it mainly concerns a video source (TV channels).

A few years ago, I found that a Pinnacle PCTV card would not receive Australian UHF channels 36-38 directly, unless the card is manually tuned on these channels.
Australian UHF channels 36-38 are primarily used for digital, but there are analog stations in Australia which use these channels.

I guess Pinnacle (and possibly some others) thought Australian channels 36-38 were only for digital stations. Why did they assume that?
My first choice in quality Japanese electrolytics is Nippon Chemi-Con, which has been in business since 1931... the quality of electronics is dependent on the quality of the electrolytics.

    Pinnacle drivers suck big time.
If you live in the USA or Europe things will work great. If you live in another country, your chances get smaller as you travel away from them.
If you own a BT848/878 based card, give this a try:

Harmon Kardon AVR340 no sound on 4 channels
      by r2digital
Hello, i had this amp sitting in the closet knowing that none of the channels were working. After taking it all apart i found 4 bulging main filter caps so i went ahead and replaced those with low ESR kmet caps. However after doing this it only restored sound to Surround L, Surround R, and Center channel. The main speaker fuse on the transformer F905/F906 keeps blowing so i decided to remove all of the transistor's on those 4 channels and measure them. All transistors appear to be in good working order(turned receiver on with none of them installed and fuse still blows). Checked dual emitter resistors...

Advice needed-Technika 32-207 works but sticks on channel, won’t change channels ok
      by rustinjust
My tv will work for a while and change channels with the remote as it should but then it will stick on one channel only and work ok but it won't change channels. I have tried unplugging it for hours and whilst unplugged pressing the power button on the tv to reset it.

The volume button on the remote still works but it just won't change channels once it decides to stick on one channel

It has built in basic freeview tv here in the uk, I've tried doing an automatic search to reset the tv but nothing works.

I have to turn the tv off and then on again with...

Marantz SR7500 burning output transistors - so far 2 channels are gone. Help!
      by Daniel Larsson
      Hi all,

Will start with the question and the full story follows below.

Can someone please let me know what voltage I should see per pin on the protection circut IC81, TA7317P?
My voltages per pin with the IC removed, only measuring on the soldering pads now, are:

      1 -0.39
      2 0.0
      3 0.0
      4 0.0
      5 -12.5
      6 11.94
      7 0.0
      8 11.74
      9 11.74

The full story is that my Marantz SR7500 shut down a couple of days ago stating "CHECK POW5".
I checked the service manual to find out that the...

Onkyo HT-R390 no sound output, video output ok
      by FrancescoV
      Good morning everyone,
I'm trying to repair an onkyo ht-r390 that has no sound output, despite the volume being at maximum, the rest seems to work; the video output signal (coming from an hdmi input) is present, but the audio is absent. Similar situation if I send an audio signal from any input I have no output.

The firmware reported is the following:
      M:1.00/11107BLP
      D:?.??/????????
      O:1.00/11107AL

The DSP firmware given the question marks seems corrupt.

On the BCHDM-0678 - 25140678 - QPWBCHDM0678A0 board the chip that usually seems...

Help with GeForce 6600gt AGP Card not receiving enough power
      by erdos
      hey guys,

I have an old homebuild PC with MSI K8N Neo Platinum 754 NVIDIA nForce3 250Gb ATX AMD Motherboard and Evga geforce 6600gt agp Card.

whenever I booted into windows7, an onscreen message pops out - warning that nvidia card is not receiving enough power and is at reduced performance level. When I opened the case, the GPU fan on the nvidia card is not spinning. after a while, the card becomes extremely hot when touched. I have a new Cosair RMS 750Watts PSU for the pc - replaced an old TruePower 380Watt ATX12V Power Supply, and the extra molex connector on the...
