pardon me for the late reply...
Just revisiting the thread, i was onto other stuff but the graphics card stopped working completely recently, pc showing a blank screen during bootup.
afterwards I took out the card from pc and checked the F1 as mentioned on the card, it shows continuity across the element, is that normal? or should i check it while the card is installed while pc is running?...

Re: Common Failures on a GE Fridge Board Example (WR55X10775, WR55X11072 200D4852G025
thank you for the reply! that's very helpful! I'll look into above mentioned components for potential failure.
K4 seems to be the relay for defrost heater, since to its left, L1 is marked as compressor / defrost.

Re: Common Failures on a GE Fridge Board Example (WR55X10775, WR55X11072 200D4852G025
I have a GE fridge (Model Number GSS23GSKNCSS) that recently gone south. the issue is that defrost heater doesn't turn on as expected. I replaced the main control board (part #WR55X31689) to get defrost function working again. I'm curious how I proceed with diagnosing the defrost issue and find corresponding component on the board....

how to repair a WD sata HDD?
hi, i was given a problematic 1TB Western digital Sata HDD for laptop recently.
the disk has read error, i wasn't able to read from the disk.
the person who passed the disk to me is in the business of selling laptops, he said it's possible to
fix it by replacing the circuit board, i was wondering how true this is? and i'm curious how complicated is to fix the hdd.
maybe the storage part of the hdd is good, just control logic or spinner went bad?
specs:
1TB WD10SPZX WD Blue (EIDE)

bad caps on Antec Truepower 380s?
i have a home built pc with Antec Sonata mid tower case that just died, it comes with a Antec Truepower 380w Power supply.
when i turned on the PC power, immediately there was a loud noise coming from PC, like a fan hitting something hard, also the pc gave off a burning smell. afterwards pc went dead.
i took out the Power supply and opened it up for a look. there are brown stuff everywhere, like something exploded inside. the two big capacitors also leaked at the bottom.
can this unit still be fixed?...

Re: Replacement caps for Antec SP-450?
my homebuilt PC with Antec Sonata case just died, it made loud noises and emit burning smell when i powered up the PC. it came with the same Antec Smart Power 450W, model SP-450 Power Supply described in this thread.
i figure it had to be the Power supply with bad caps, i wonder if i decided to replace the the caps, what safety precautions i should take to work with capacitors?
thanks
