Vizio P552Ui-B2- right half is black & white

Hello,
I am hoping someone here had seen this before.. just got this TV that seems to have a black & white picture on the right half and decent on the left half. See photos. Any idea where to begin? is this a bad panel or TCON?

Is this a LCD or PLASMA Tv?

It's a LED TV.
unplug one of the ribbon cables that go from the TCon to the panel, check the picture, then vice versa. Is the dark part of the screen sluggish to respond when you watch something?

Thanks.. unplugging either ribbon to TCON causes it not to turn on. No LED activity if either ribbon cables i unplugged. Just light flickers and that's it.

put on a known video test pattern so we can see something that isn't so busy. It doesn't look good. I am surprised that the set doesn't turn on... but maybe in newer models, vizio has come up with some protection "scheme" to save things.

You probably need to provide some picture of the back of the set so we can see the configuration layout and cards involved.

Then turn on the tv first, then unplug one of them 2 ribbon cables that go ftom the TCon to the panel.
