sharp aquos lc-52xl2e wont power on

Hi I have a sharp aquos lc-52xl2e tv when I plug it in the green light comes on and goes straight to red light then no lights, all this happens within 10 seconds and nothing will happen unless I remove power plug and wait a couple minutes then if I try again the process will repeat . I am unable to go into service mode in this time frame and was hoping this problem is known by someone on this site
    Thanks.

Well it is a problem often seen on numerous sets and the fix is to remove the back and check for voltages the first being the big main capacitor on power section usually marked "hot" using a dmm set to dc high range with black lead on negative leg and red on positive leg of that capacitor/s. Keep self clear of that section as you test. A few good clear pics of the board/s in the set posted with result of this test will start good responses.

The main Filter cap/s would be the large ones under the metallic shield in pin #1.

What you need to do first is to report the DC Voltage readings of the connectors on the cold side, you MUST report in the format that shows the pin name and follow by the Voltage reading in TV off mode and when TV is turned on.

I am not sure what connectors on the cold side you mean could you explain what connectors you mean please . And I cant access the big caps under the metal plate when the board is fitted to the tv to test with power on . if you could explain it as if I have not got any experience it would really be appreciated

See that wide white hatched line in the middle of the board?
The right side is the HOT DEADLY SIDE that you do not want to make any contact with your body, the left side is the cold side.

Thanks for explaining that so I will refit the board and with my dmm on dc and my black lead on the big metal sheet of the tv I will test all cold side connectors and report pin number and volts with tv unplugged and tv plugged in. please tell me if this is correct and thank you for your patience

You must have some voltage since you say
I plug it in the green light comes on and goes straight to red light then no lights,
Have you set your meter to read DC voltage.

                          Hi
yes meter set to dc and if i plug the tv in it goes green light red light no lights all in under 5 seconds. I had to disconnect harnesses from a couple of the pins because my probe couldnt fit into the rear of the plug maybe thats why my readings are off ?

the readings below were taken with the plugs removed so i could get to the pins

Interested in BUS5V OL. You need to move your meter range up one position although BUS5V would indicate to me that it's a 5V supply?

that would make sense as i have no stand by mode, all readings were taken with dmm set to dc at 0.000 range

Are you sure your meter has DCV scale setting for '0.000' DCV scale. Why would the meter have '0.000'V scale??
                                  Typical scale is 200mV, 2V, 20V, 200V, etc,
You are getting 'OL' showing on the meter because it went over the scale for the meter to display.
Show us the pictures of your meter.
Just run the power supply board by itself and then check the 5V standby.

OK, your meter can be set to Auto range or manually set to the range you want by using the range switch.
So set range to 00.00 and then measure the STBY 5V without power supply board connected to the main board.
You have 5V STANDBY, otherwise you will not have any LED indicator.

I just look at the user manual, you do not have it set to AUTO, you are in the 3.999V scale that is why 5V is showing 'OL'.

'3) The default range is Auto range, and "AUTO" is displayed. Pressing RANGE key
switch to manual range, 400mV/4V/40V/400V/1000V can be selected.'

'Display: 3 3/4digit LCD with a max readings of 3999'
