LG 32LH3000 stuck in standby (needs dump?)

Good day folks. I was wondering if perhaps someone could provide a bit of help with this LG TV which is stuck in standby: red LED is on, but that's it. It doesn't respond to the remote or the buttons on the side. It doesn't even TRY to turn on, which would indicate a PSU issue, so I believe the main board, an eax60686902 is faulty since it's not sending the ON signal to the power supply. Couldn't find a dump for this model yet, though I will keep on searching. If someone had this issue before and could provide some tips and perhaps a dump to try and flash it with, it would be great Cheers.

Now just have to find and dust off an old XP machine and dig out some DB9 cables from the junk box....this should be fun

Unfortunately no, it didn't work the least bit: I'm not even able to connect, so either I'm doing something wrong or there's something dead on the main board. Replacing the board is the only solution.

This reminds me of a Samsung set I once worked on where the board didn't show any signs of life but no visible damage either....that was until I replaced the board and out of curiosity removed the heatsink from the CPU only to find a hole blown in it, so it could very well be the case here....

Having ordered a replacement main BD for this TV I thought I'd dig into this one just for fun to see if I can find anything dead or shorted and sure enough, following along with a schematic, I traced a short on the 3.3v bus down to the CPU itself which perfectly explains why it's dead and burried....very common and have had this same exact issue before.
