Re: Help with HDMI chip identification !
The D600x parts near the HDMI connectors are just protection diodes and unlikely to be the fault
If the traces route themselves into the main processor, you have no chance of repairing it because that's probably BGA with custom firmware. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: Help with HDMI chip identification !
Can you post a clear picture of the entire main board?
See the top diff pair traces that go from each HDMI connector? They head north, but we need to see the entire board. follow those traces and that's where the HDMI controller is located.
EDIT: Did you pick this TV up, or is this TV yours? What happened to it?
Please post a picture of the entire board. How many HDMI ports do you have? only 2? 3? 4? Do any of the other ports work?
I'm curious because on some TV sets, HDMI 1/2 are passed through a HDMI multiplexer, while HDMI 3, for example, is a direct input to the video processor. If your TV has just an issue with an HDMI mux, then it's easy to just replace the SMT part and get going again.
If the inputs go directly to the video processor and neither ports work, then you'll have a tougher time trying to figure that out.
What have you tried doing so far? If you haven't already:
1. Ohm out the traces between the HDMI connector - check for shorts
2. Ohm out the trace between the HDMi connector, and the protection diodes.
3. Ohm out the protection diodes from one side to the other.
4. Ohm out the trace from the protection diode to the HDMI chip (which isn't shown in your pic).
5. Check the power supplies on the board - find the datasheet for the HDMI chip, and see if hte associated pins have power (measure across the capactors around the device).
6. post a picture of the entire main board so we can get a good idea of the topology.
Do that and report back
Thanks!

Re: Help with HDMI chip identification !
It is a SEMS 12, located under the heatsink. Unless you have proper equipment + skills for BGA rework you are out if luck. The board can be found many places for 35-50USD.Comment

I have a very strange issue with the BIOS SPI chip of an ASRock B650M PRO RS motherboard.
The SPI chip is an Winbond 25Q256JWEQ model (1V8).
The motherbaord doas not POST - it lits only CPU and DRAM EZ Debug Leds, and stays that way forever.
The Flashback function of the motherbaord is also not working, despite all instructions followed correctly - I'm 100% sure of this.
I have then desoldered the chip, backupped the contents, and tried to earease the chip in order to program stock image, but the chip is locked by status registers SREG2 (TB) and SREG6... -

Long story short:
- dad converted Asus Chromebox CN62 into Windows compatible, with mrchromebox BIOS, years and years ago
- gave the computer to his son a couple years later
- son now decided to revert it to Chrome OS, to sell it as original (re-writing BIOS with the backup one created by his dad)
- too lazy to remove the board from the case, thought a voltage regulator was the BIOS chip (you know... it has 8 legs)
(seems like the story was not that short)
He used alligator clips to read the chip. No luck reading it. Removed chip and placed on a SOC-8... - Loading...
