Dumpster find LCD with Megmeet MP123 PSU with frazzled components - ideas please...

    Hi Guys,

Found a Bush LE-32GE11E 32" LCD tv while I was returning from the shops, screen looked intact so it came home with me.

Mains lead fuse had been removed so I suspected it had already had some sort of 'experience'.
Tried new fuse but no leds illuminated & no response to buttons.

Continuity of the mains lead to the psu - all ok.
PSU pcb soldered fuse (T3.15A 250Vac) - blown.
Top side PSU components visual inspection - ok.

Bottom side of the pcb is where the action has taken place and 4 surface mount components (resistors) have experienced some action and blackened the immediate area.

    PSU markings;
    PCB: MEGMEET MP123 REV:2.1 2011.01.06
    Label: Model MP123-24T

    Pictures:
TOP - I have drawn in the connections (I reassembled the tv and put it in the garage) and pcb markings. Connectors 2/3/4 go to the main board & 5/6 go to the backlight.

BOTTOM - this is where the frazzling has taken place. On the black plastic shield shield there is the main area where something has happened and then another patch which corresponds to component Q29 - this might just be a contact mark as Q29 looks pristine. (marking is;D446 BA2R1A).

    BLACKENED COMPONENTS - R144/R145/R146/R147 - I can't read the values:

Any help/schematic/next steps - much appreciated as I would like to fix this rather than just get a replacement PSU.
Mainly because I'm unemployed at the moment and have no immediate rush for a tv, but it would be nice to get working and give to a friend to replace their ancient 'Techwood' lcd tv

Try Google for the schematic, but it seems to be different, the resistors look like 1R0, 1 ohm and most likely are in the source of the fet that would also be shorted
The similar power supply on shopjimmy uses 1-1R5 and 3-1R0 in parallel

They look to be 1 Ohm (1R0) resistors connected in parallel to form 0.25 Ohm current sensing sensor, one end are connected to primary circuit Ground, another ends should be connected to the Source pin of the MOSFET Q31 that drive the power transformer.
Are the resistors showing open circuit right now?
More likely the MOSFET has shorted out and it probably took out the SMPS IC that drives the Gate of the MOSFET also.
The other SMD MOSFET is the switched for providing the switched output Voltage when PS-ON is present.

Non of the resistors give a consistent reading.
For example R147 starts on 0 jumps to 20m then drops down to 130k then jumps up to 300k then 1m and starts going up.
Measure it a second time and it behaves similarly but in different intervals.

Try removing the resistor and measure it off the board.

The resistors have been blown apart! what did you think you would measure? your measuring the carbon thats left over after they burnt.

Yes, I thought these might be those new self-regenerating resistors invented by that super clever teenager entrepreneur with his crowd funding project...

As you can clearly see above, another knowledgeable member asked me the question which I answered.

                Off the board;

                R144 - OL
                R145 - 1.345M
                R146 - OL

I might have one of those boards in the workshop, or a very close relative, those particular PSU's are very expensive and difficult to obtain.

                  Found it,

                  R144 1R00
                  R145 1R00
                  R146 1R00
                  R147 2R20

                  Hope this helps
