You will have to probe through coating around each one. Trial and error to find +and- for each led. You don't need to check each led if you are going to replace strip.Last edited by dskall; 06-08-2017, 04:15 PM.I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.Comment

I cant find replacement strips so i will replace the individual faulty leds.
I removed the diffusers and tested each led
I think i found the faulty led on the end.
Plus the burn mark on the back of the strip is probably a good indicator lolAttached FilesComment

I use around 260c. With strips off the panel you can heat from bottom. I leave strips attached and heat from top. You just want to minimize heating led itself and melting. I heat strip till solder on pads melt and then drop led on and heat a couple more seconds. I also replace lens with led lit so I can center it over led so you minimize bright spots on screen.I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.Comment

If you warm up the led strip it helps to soften the glue sticking it to the metal chassis.
I heat up from underneath the faulty led using the hot air gun but basically identical to

i tried using the heat gun and it didnt work
i was afraid of using to high of a temp and possibly damaging the strip
but i will try again

Some leds weld themselves to the pads and may be difficult to remove. The strips are pretty heat tolerant.I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.Comment

i had to raise the temp and lower the fan speed. i did burn it a little more but not bad

I'm trying to help my friend who owns a restaurant be just bought.
He has a very long LED strip running along all the walls and columns. The strip is attached facing down 2in above the floor, using a wall panel that ends in a metal rail that finishes the panel underneath
It's stuck using, I guess, the 2 sided tape that comes with the strip
The issue is that like 1/2 of the full length, including 1/2 one wall, another entire wall, and one column, flickers after 4 or 5 minutes ON. Particularly it flashes staying OFF most of the time and flashing ON for 1 tenth... -
Hi, I am installing a long led strip and I noticed that it frequently flickers slightly, it is not a strong nor regular thing, but it is noticeable and annoying. I have measured the voltage of the mains and it shows some fluctuations, it normally stays at around 226v, but often (every few seconds) drops down to 218/219v), and the flickering happens exactly at the same time. I have measured this at the counter and with every appliance off, so it's not related to the house electrical system, but that's how it comes from the supplier.
I know that the best solution would be to get a voltage... -
I wonder if i shorted the whole strip...where to put pos and neg to just light up a single diode...or the entire strip. The strip lit for a second...so maybe i fried it? What say you?
I have an adjustable dc power supply and was trying around 9 volts.

I suspect a lot of you have done a lot of repairs and end up with a lot of bad LED strips...what do you do with them?
Wonder if I should get a pile of LED chips and try to replace the bad units for the heck of it, but I don't really need the strips at the moment because I bought the strips...
Oh... and I think I got my TV working again, though not 100% I don't think, on a white screen I can see a bit of the ghost of the LED strips, must have done something wrong or the LED strips aren't quite the same as the original... -

I have one very old TV.
Main problem I have with this tv is that led strips won't light.
I measured voltage levels, and inverter input is 24V.
other voltages are also ok.
What I found is that removing and connecting again connector CN1 led strips lights for shorts time (but only once). When led strips lights up then light is uniformly spread on whole panel.
First I thought that led strips are dead, but I'm quite sure that problem is not strips related.
I don't know what voltage level is at output of inverter board (samsung SSL400_3E2A) and how...
