I have a SEIKI TV model number SE47FY19 and I had no picture but I had sound. I did the "flashlight" test and I could see the menu but I had no backlights. I was told to replace the power supply but still had the same problem. Then, I tried to replace the T-Con Board and still had the same problem. Finally, I replaced the main board but now the TV has the standby light on (red light) but when I hit the Power button or use the remote, the TV does not turn on. Can ANYONE help me please?? Did I buy a faulty main board? Or is it the power supply? I'm really lost here

Re: SEIKI TV SE47FY19 No Backlights
Put the old mainboard back in. It looks as though you have a led problem.
Any pictures of your boards????Willing to help but I'm no expert. -
Re: SEIKI TV SE47FY19 No Backlights
What dc voltage do you have across the two legs of EC5 (capacitor) when you switch on.
Also just above EC5 (3rd picture) there's a blue ceramic capacitor which appears to have some sort of deposit on the circuit board alongside it. Is that capacitor damaged?

What voltages do you have on the pins of CON6 & CON8Last edited by dick_barton; 05-11-2017, 01:18 PM.Willing to help but I'm no expert.Comment

Re: SEIKI TV SE47FY19 No Backlights
I have no clue
...I don't have a Voltmeter and I am not too familiar measuring voltage. The thing is that I called SEIKI and I was referred to "ShopJimmy.com" for technical support. Then, ShopJimmy told me to either get help on FixYa.com or here (BadCaps.net) for this type of problem

Re: SEIKI TV SE47FY19 No Backlights
The forum can advise you but you need to be able to supply us with information asked for in order to progress any fault you have.
Since we can be living thousands of miles from you, we can neither see the set or take any voltage readings, which are needed.
Working with electrics can be potentially hazardous. I would be concerned that if you are unfamiliar with the use of the multimeter then I would respectfully suggest that a local TV repair shop may be your best option.Willing to help but I'm no expert.Comment

Re: SEIKI TV SE47FY19 No Backlights
Probably bad backlights. That will require the disassembly of the whole tv and testing of leds. It is a very delicate job to do without breaking panel. I suggest you watch some youtube videos on replacing backlights and see if you want to tackle jobI assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.Comment

Re: SEIKI TV SE47FY19 No Backlights
That is why you should invest on a meter and learn how to use it to narrow down the problem, taking the panel apart is the last thing you want to do, and after that you still need to check each LED and all the connections.Never stop learning

by m1ch43lzmHi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic... -
by howardc64All left and right refers to looking from rear of TV (or looking from front with TV upside down)
- TV came with vertical bars and no image. Found faulty TVS on left buffer board. Also replaced T-Con (may have damaged the original while hot air removing components, board has slight warp) and have full image but few horizontal lines on the screen. Some of the lines appears to be 2 pixel tall while others are 1 pixel tall.
- Disconnecting left and right buffer board potentially reveals problems on both sides with different signals (unless this T-Con require jumper like Samsung FB_TRDY1&3) Fault

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?by Tynan DillI was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

by HakuuHi There,
This TV was auto switching off after few seconds with some vertical lines on the screen, so got a new TCON board and replaced it.
After replacing the TCON board it was working fine and i set it up with everything, used for few hours, then had the bright idea to update the software on it. During the update process, TV switched off and now no audio or video. No relay switch sound.
