I was just given this set, I've looked at many posts and videos that point towards the leds going bad on this set. I've tested the boards and the leads going to the leds and get high voltage at them (287 at red/black lines in pic attached). According to this post sounds like that means an open circuit and the leds should be tested?

Re: Hitachi LE55A6R9A confirm bad LEDs
Have you disconnected the main board and then powered up to see if the backlights come on.
Do you have a photo of your circuit boards?Willing to help but I'm no expert.Comment

Behind CN201 you have legends along side the pins. What voltages do you have on each pin.
Pin number.......Pin Name...... Pin voltage

Re: Hitachi LE55A6R9A confirm bad LEDs
Need voltages from connector that goes from power supply board to main board. Will need pin#- PIN DESCRIPTION -Pin voltage in standby-Pin voltage when pushing power button and picture of connector on power supply board.
Format:
Pin# - Pin Description - Pin Voltage standby - Pin voltage power on
1 - XXXXXXX - XXv - XXXv
2 - XXXXXXX - XXXv - XXXv
3 - XXXXXXX - XXXv - XXXv
4 - etc.
Here's tester led tester I have. http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-110V-265...item3ad03eb6c6I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.Comment

Re: Hitachi LE55A6R9A confirm bad LEDs
Thank you everyone for your help/confirmation.
Looks like ShopJimmy is out of the replacements at the moment so I will wait until they're back in stock. In the mean time I will order the tester.
Is is best to just replace all the led strips instead of just isolating those that are bad and just replace those?Comment

Re: Hitachi LE55A6R9A confirm bad LEDs
I got this TV, I am just going to heat the bad LEDs off the strip and heat replacement LEDs from another TV onto the strip. Why buy a strip when I have lots of these LEDs laying around. A heat gun works great for changing them out, a soldering iron will NOT work.Comment

by PipolupsHi there !
I'm having an issue for several weeks with my quite old K70 LUX RGB keyboard. I haven't used it for few months, and once I setup up again my desktop computer, I got several dead LEDs on that keyboard. I tried the Corsair troubleshooting thing (disabling options in iCUE, ...) but nothing changed so I conclude that for some reason some LEDs went in retirement...π
Decision taken to change these LEDs as I have access to desoldering iron and binocular magnifier, I wrote a ticket to tech support, hopping to obtain the LEDs reference and... They refused to tell me π...10-08-2024, 11:58 AM -
by lmcancuHi I am having an issue with the LED backlight of this TV. I can see the picture with a flash light, so I determined it was a backlight issue.
Initially, after opening it I found 2 shorted and 1 open LED on 2 strips (total of 4). I removed the LEDs and shorted the pads together to verify if the backlight would work.
Testing it, I found the backlight turned on and I measured 54V when TV was in standby (off), and 100v when TV was turned on. The 4 strips each contain 9 LEDs, so 36 in all minus 3.
Instead of putting it back together I decided to replace... -
by THE GTCSo I use this TV daily as a second monitor for my PC or my Playstation - at one point a few months back I tried to fix the problem - but in the process, I figured out something that works so I haven't posted this for awhile. It is an annoying trick to have to do though, so I decided to post about it to see if anyone could spot what's wrong. It baffles me because it works on it's own half the time.
When I first got this TV, I was told it wouldn't turn on, and of course I did the flashlight test, and the image was there. Also, the red LED on the front indicated that it had power (it... -
Hi all, first time seeing a LED problem this weird so I wanted to discuss with y'all before handing back this TV to my costumer.
This TV came to my shop with no picture but sound present. So I thought ok this must be a LED problem and I shine a light with my phone's torch amd and yup I see the image. So I disassemble it and before changing the LEDs I check the motherboard voltages (this unit works with an external 16V DC brick) and I see 54 volts at the input pin of LED strip, considering this TV has 2 strips of 7 LEDs which at 3~ volts it must be equal to like 42 volts. I remove... -
