    Need help with Sharp LC-80LE8032 Power Drive with 2 Long and 3 short flash

    Hi I am new here, I would like to get help, how to fix this Power Drive for Sharp TV LC-80LE632U
    The PS board is RUNTKA903WJQZ The error is 2 long flash and 3 short flash .
    The TV was fine last week until a I installed chromecast 1st genreration and still working for 1 day, I change the power source for Chromecast from external ac adapter to TV USB as I don't want the chromecast keep running as the TV off, I rarely use this TV since I purchased 5yrs ago. The day after I move the power source of Chromecast I turned on the TV, I found the error.
    I have tried all reset combination I read from the thread but no go,
    for couple days I have read many threads from this forum.

    https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...ht=lc-80LE632U
    https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...ht=lc-80LE632U
    https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...ht=lc-80LE632U
    https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...rp+lc-70le732u

    I want to try fix the TV as I already replaced with new Main board, as first thought I had overloaded the Mainboard and somehow spike happened. but still have same error.

    with this Picture below

    I tried to limit PS issue as I have tested , it doesn't have 12V the only pin have voltage is Bus5V

    I have soldered some cable jumper to pin PS_On and PNL_PWR and STBY and also Bus5V to make easier on testing.

    And basically I just want to make sure the problem came from Power Supply, and I tried to force to turned on the Power supply by jumper PS_On with bus 5V with 1K resistor (I read from BudM's post), after I pulled the PS_On wire on connector that came from Main board ===> same result (no voltage on other pin)
    I have 3.0 V on that cable came from main board. (so I assumed the MB sent signal to turned on the PS).

    but the blink is not come out if the PS_On wire is disconnected but as soon as I I connected via jumper the voltage become 0V. on PS_on.

    With my little knowledge in electronic, I am begging any favor from this forum, how to test further and the logic to make sure that the problem from PS and possible to be fixed not the bigger parts.
    Sorry for long post
    Thank you
    Carl

    So with the main board disconnected, when PS_ON is taken to 0V do all the voltages on the power supply voltages come up.
    Willing to help but I'm no expert.

        I believe the correct reset combination is volume up channel dn while plugging in TV. You have to hold these two buttons while you plug in the TV as soon as the power light or the inverted V stays solid let go the buttons

        This will bypass error code and allow the TV to come up and function hopefully

        Read this thread this was my problem back in 2013 however mine was an LED error when all the information on your model is listed in here

          Re: Need help with Sharp LC-80LE8032 Power Drive with 2 Long and 3 short flash

          Thank you all for respond, I did reset with Vol Up and Chnl Dn combination nothing change.
          all pin on CN7501 is 0V except the Bus5v is 5V.

          I took off the Power Supply for bench test, I have external regulator 5V to 3.3 V (from my old arduino project) and get the power 5V from Bus5V pin as input and connect the output to Pin PS_ON now I probe the CN 7501 pin with the result below
          1:PNL_12V ==>0V
          2: PNL_12V==>0V
          3 : GND
          4 : GND
          5 : UR13V==>0V
          6 : UR13V==>0V
          7 : UR13V==>0V
          8 : UR13V==>0V
          9 : GND
          10 : GND
          11 : GND
          12: GND
          13 : AC_DET ==>3.27V
          14 : PS_ON ==>3.3V
          15 : BU+5V ==>5V
          16 : PNL_POW ==>0V
          17 : VSYNC(GSP) ==>0V
          18: SCL==>0,2V
          19 : NC==>0V
          20: SDA==>0,2V
          21: OFL ==>0,03V
          22 : ERROR==>0,2V
          23: NC==>0V
          24 : STB==>0V
          I stated the main board sent the signal 3.3V to turn on the PS ( i took the wire out from the connector) and do the probe that it was stable on 3.3V and when I connected it drop to 0V , I assumed there is protection on Mainboard to cancel the PS_on signal once error detected. Correct me if I made wrong assumption. Could I get help to trace why the 12V and 13V is not detected, and also I had connected the PNL_PWR with 3,3V external regulator parallel with PS_ON still same result.

          Thank you all

              Lol thank you. That thing was a beast. Try this, disconnect both flat ribbon cables going from the t-con board to the panel these are white flat ribbon cables that are an inch and a half long each side there's two of them. Once you disconnect those cables try the power up combination again

                I did try one riibon cable at a time and both but same problem with Tcon power only or without tcon same error.
                I have read a thread the T con was the problem. In my case with bench test I force the PS on with external regulator. But the 12V and 13v won't show up.

                  Post #5. I believe you also need to take STB to +5V via a 1K resistor and check your voltages again.

                    Thanks for respond while I am looking for -1K resistor may I have question, is STBY pin voltage genetaed by Power Supply or from mainboard?

                        I ordered PS from ebay and just arrived today and install on the TV it is just simple working!! with old mainboard
                        it seems the 2 Long and 3 short flash error came from Power supply, I read one thread have same error he just changed the Mainboard to make TV working.

                        Now I have a non working PS It need to be fixed for spare and a working Main board but with 1 long and 1 short flashes, bypass the error with Ch Dn and Vol up the TV working , I could't enter to service menu to reset the error from the previous owner already have in this board.

                          Entering the service then you can be extremely tricky but it is possible read up on my post about the 80-inch 632u to you that I had and in that post of the show you how to get in the service menu period it's a 3 button combination instead of 2 button upon plugging in I believe. It's been a while

                            ok, I assume you were able to enter service menu after you have 1 slow 1 fast flash ? can you reset the error after power cycle ? I meant do you still have 1 slow 1 fast Flashing after power cycle?

                              Yes you will have the same reoccurring error until you enter the service menu and clear the fault.

                                The flash system works like that : when the (mechanic) flash button is pressed, the flash mecanically pop up, and a circuit buck boost elevate 7v (batt) to 200-300v (?) for charging the big capacitor. And when the photo shoot button is pressed, the capacitor is discharged in the xeon light.

                                In the D800, there is a first « power board » close to the battery. 2 wires (batt 7v) goes to another little « flash board ». I measured 7v, so ok.
                                When I press the flash button, it's detected by the system, flash icon appear on LDC display....

                                Hi everyone,

                                I've got a Sharp LC-55N7000U. It has a standbuy LED when plugged in, but powering it on causes it to blink 1 LONG and 5 FAST. Theres no display and no backlight.

                                Nothing I checked has that blink pattern for Sharp TVs and there's only one multi-button on the TV itself so that service menu trick involving the input button doesn't work either. Its a post-Hisense buyout TV so that probably makes sense lol

                                I've tried disconnecting the panel sides from the TCON alternating sides, but no change in behaviour even when the whole TCON is disconnected,...
