You can tell him I have some repaired SC boards I will sell for a fair price.

Which port? Never tried, don't have the knowledge or gear but would not surprise me but i don't know where you'll find the info for that.

Have you done the firmware mod to lower your black levels on your TV's or is that not something you care about?
No , I'm not into mods, just plain old get it working and keeping it standard

No manuals will make it hard but essentially if you think of the board as a processor then the only difference between any model is the firmware , data, program loaded on non volatile memory.

some of it is common. So either desolder and swapover or copy the data and overwrite the chips but you'd need a clip.

I've had some fun with a CH341 but the clips supplied are rubbish

And now I'm back to trying to repair the A board on the 65". I've noticed that the voltage on what I believe is pin 10 & 11 on connector A3 kicks in but is not constant and varies from 1-3ish volts when I turn the TV on. Now I'll try the schematics to find where that comes from but reading them is not my strong point..

Funny, I just gutted a smashed V20 and kept the chassis and bezel all because of your crazy problem.

Nothing in the V20 is compatible for VT20 except the Su board , power filter, the speakers and the stand

Takes the fun out of fixing them as nobody really seems keen to buy a plasma around here these days. I loved my 50" and thats how this started but they just have no resale value and I dont need heaps of TV's either.

I love them but everyone is on the LED bandwagon these days.
Yeah I think what they do is google the fault. I've posted so much stuff that they'll get a lot of good info that way. Work out it's SC, guess what the TV is worth then take the price of an SC off that.

To fix and sell, no margin there. I paid a $100 for mine but it was 18 months old at the time. Most I've paid is a $100 and the only other was a 50VT30 as it's the top of the line in that series and rare. I've kept the GT340, VT30 plus my original V20(sentimental, first ever decent model I fixed) and a ST30 for a spare.

    Someone mentioned OCD
Yeah I love LED, lose one or two LEDs in a string and bye bye $1000 TV.

Generally the plasma panel is pretty robust and most of the issues are SC boards.

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
    by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

    Assuming...

HP Pavilion 15-eh Board DAG7HAMB8F0 - CPU throttling to 0.4GHz (PROCHOT_EXT) and black screen
    by m1ch43lzm
Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

Panasonic switching power supply daughter board has two 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors which I do not keep in stock
    by sam_sam_sam
I did not have any 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors but one nice thing is that it has enough room for two capacitors in parallel a 22uf and a 4.7uf @ 50 volts 22 plus 4.7 equals 26.7uf which so very close to 27uf I will show some pictures of it sometime tomorrow

This is one of the shit est boards I seen in a very long time and it was the daughter board the traces just lifting off the board I had to use the capacitor leads to repair the the traces and the main board is not any better because I had to repair several traces for the daughter board to the main board

    After all of...

Panasonic TC-P54VT25 No image. A or D board?
    by canadaboy25
I have a Panasonic TC-P54VT25 that will power on and prime the display but there is no image at all.

The panel is primed as there is a slight glow from the entire panel. This means the problem should be logic related. The service manual also confirms this and recommends replacing the A or the D board.

I have tried to get the TV to display the test sequence but I have been unable to and I don't even know if this TV has a test sequence or not. I tried following tom66's instructions in post #3 on this thread https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=26790. There was...
