    LG 50PQ3000 powersupply failure

I repaired the standby (flyback) part of the supply after a blown STRW-6252.
It works, but does not output standby voltage.
The standby voltage is a switched output and does not come on.
I have got it to start-up occasionally by starting the PSU with a variac, and slowly increase from zero to 100VAC.

Does anyone have advice or perhaps a schematic?

Haha, the +5V standby voltage was switched from a hidden button under the set to fulfill energy star energy requirements.
When I found this switch, the standby voltage came on and set works!

TV Samsung UE40MU6405U, not standby (after power failure)
        by Espartaco Smith
Hello, as I mentioned in the title, I have a Samsung TV at home, model UE40MU6405U, which is about 5 or 6 years old.

After a power company failure, the TV stopped turning on and even the standby light wouldn't come on. Over a period of about 10 seconds, the electricity kept going off and on repeatedly, and the TV died.

The power supply is: L40E6_KSM (BN44-00875A)
        The main board: BN41-02568B

The power supply board seems to be fine. All the voltages are present. If I disconnect it from the main board, I get backlight.

        I've also checked the...

Zombie Samsung UN55NU6900F dead / no standby voltage - randomly came to life after hours of troubleshooting then died
        by tvguy12012012120
This is my first attempt at troubleshooting a board like this, I know I could just buy a new board but I'm curious to figure out how this works. I've been testing different components in the evenings this week and I think the problem is with the IC failing to start up for some reason. When the board is plugged in there is no standby voltage.

Then today it randomly sprung to life like a zombie but shortly died thereafter. I have no idea why it would have done that and its the first time I've seen it running. I discharged capacitors on the board last night, then it was sitting today....

Vizio D50u-D1 Dead Set No Standby
        by fharris1977
Hi. I got a Vizio with no power or standby, and won't turn on with remote or button. I checked the voltages on the connector and all read 0.00V or nearly 0(0.050 ON/OFF pin). None of the pins are labeled STB for standby although I do see some 5V pins. Other than the obvious standby led, which isn't coming on, is there a way to check for standby voltage on this PS. I'm trying to see if my problem is the PS or mainboard. Some Vizios I have fixed with no standby led me to think it was the PS but it turned out being the mainboard. Any experience with this set would be greatly appreciated.

LG 50PQ3000 Fixed No Standby Light

        LG 50PQ3000
Opened this TV and it looked like someone had emptied a hoover bag over all the boards. I cleaned all the boards front and back and noticed the main fuse on the power board had failed. I couldn't see any bad caps so I replaced the fuse and the TV worked with no problems, all voltages were good.
