I'd check zener zd5304, you'll probably need to remove it to get an accurate reading remember what way round it goes. Cathode to black stripe.

If shorted it may have caused quite a bit of damage.

If its OK, replace the igbts and test again between vs and Gnd. If its now in the high K ohms....

    Plug in and pray.

There's a few things you can do to save your parts a 200w lightbulb and variac would be handy. If not stick with the prayers.

thanks, I'm just going to remove zener diode. what do you think about X board, is there chance it might be damaged too as Y and X in direct connection?

            Seems OK.

Check zsus the same why as you've checked the ysus.

Yeah LG call the board a Z-sus
                Samsung a X-main. Same part.

so on X main, I should check resistance Ve to ground? thanks

X main is shorted too, no resistance between Vs and ground, meter set to 200ohms show 01.6, few transistors are shorted, also found capacitor which discharge very fast. also few diodes shows 0 on diodes test in both direction.

i'm just wondering if it is worth to fix this TV anymore, transistors for Y sus will cost me around £30, for Xsus maybe more than that as it seems more damaged than Ysus. Ebay have only Ysus for cost of £40, I didnt find Xsus at all. Even I would find both Y and X from ebay working, doesn't mean TV will work once they both plugged in, something else might be damaged. TV is 9 years old now. I think it is time to say goodbye. what your thoughts are?

hi, i watched a video on youtube and if you unplug the y buffer and you hear the start up sound, then the board needs replacing or repairing, replacing is very cheap with ebay these days, it also says its better to replace y sus and buffer boards. sorry if this sounds a bit green, im new and having a similar problem with my plasma.

Hi did you read whole thread? have you seen instructions Hamie gave me? two boards are at least damaged, both boards are expensive on ebay, and it is not worth to fix 9 years old TV.

Carver CM-1090 - Power relay clicking on & off, then fuse blown after 20-30 seconds of power cycling.
                                by beetle1303
I gotten a Carver CM-1090 amplifier from a friend who has kept it in storage for decades. Opened it up, thick layer of dust cumulated everywhere. Vacuumed it semi-cleaned, and blown off as much as possible the remaining dust. This is a 220V version.

On initial powered up with nothing connected - it works with all the lights and button indicator lit up as pressed, etc. I then powered off, connected a CD player into the CD RCA input and powered it on. It seemed to work for a short while and when I turned the volume up and down to see the the VUs works, the power started to clicked off...

Sony kdl-46w905a won’t turn on and relay clicking noise

Hi I got Sony kdl-46w905a and it won't turn on and no red blinking code and all I hear when I plug it in is a clicking noise and a pause for a second then another clicking noise as if the power supply has a relay and is relay is turning off the power supply bcuz of a problem, bcuz of this I have no way to check voltages anywhere as there's no standby light but I think I get a white light for a second then goes off, I've checked for bad capacitors or shorted mosfets but haven't found a problem, and I was thinking if there's a way To bypass the protection so it stays on so I can check voltages ?...

Now i have power but is clicking and voltages are flutuating. I change all capacitors, i test all mosfets and all are ok.
i am wondering what is the value of R901! I am getting 0.5Ohms. Is that correct!
the colours look like R,R,W or silver,G Bl.

                                Thanks...

60" LG 60PB690V relay clicking issue
                                by DodgyTech
                                Hi everyone,

I require some help with my TV. The TV standby light blicks on and off with a clicking sound (relay?) from the back. After I opened up the TV, I set about troubleshooting by unplugging the boards to try and isolate the problem. My troubleshooting suggests that the logic board is causing the issue, but it could entirely be the YSUS board which is only activated once the logic board is connected.

I have recorded a video which I thought would be an easier way to explain the problem and show the boards at the same time.

I would like to try and identify...

Removing electrical noise introduced by fan
                                by tony359
                                Hi all,

I am working on a sound processor, it tends to overheat so I fitted a fan inside. The fan is connected to the +15V of the PSU via a DC-DC converter based on the LM2596 to reduce the voltage to around 10.5V.

Unfortunately the analogue circuitry is picking up the noise from the fan in two ways:
                                1. The fan is close to the analogue section, the motor itself gets into the outputs so I'll have to move it somewhere else
                                2. Even with the fan running outside of the case, there is still some noise which is clearly going back to the processor via power line....
