Owner didn't want to pay that much (both boards were over £100 at the time) For 9 years old tv . Tv went to scrap yard

Hi did you read whole thread? have you seen instructions Hamie gave me? two boards are at least damaged, both boards are expensive on ebay, and it is not worth to fix 9 years old TV.Leave a comment:

X main is shorted too, no resistance between Vs and ground, meter set to 200ohms show 01.6, few transistors are shorted, also found capacitor which discharge very fast. also few diodes shows 0 on diodes test in both direction.
i'm just wondering if it is worth to fix this TV anymore, transistors for Y sus will cost me around £30, for Xsus maybe more than that as it seems more damaged than Ysus. Ebay have only Ysus for cost of £40, I didnt find Xsus at all. Even I would find both Y and X from ebay working,...Leave a comment:

Hi again
you were right. 1, 2 4 5 and 8 transistors shorted. diode 3 and 6 are ok once transistors are out. diode 7 with meter set to diode shows me one way 435 other way 1035, I'm not sure if this diode is OK.
also to remove some transistors I had to take out 4 big green capacitors, I checked them and they are OK.

I attached picture with numbers in red showing which transistor is shorted.
1. Q5304
2. q5303
3. diode d5402 with meter set to 2000 ohms gives reading 448 one way , other way shows 278, as far as i remember the current should only go one way
4. Q5403
5. Q5101
6. diode d5101 resistance one 039 other way 027
7. diode d5406 resistance 417 other way meter shows 1 sometimes 327 then back to 1

I just catch what you mean by buffers. I disconnected them. Va 10v till 0V and back, Vs 1.66V till 0V and back, Vsc from Y main still 0V. all voltages DCLeave a comment:

Hi All.
I need advise to indetify which component is faulty.
Samsung plasma PS50B430P2W (serial number on picture below) keeps clicking on and off (relay noise ) and no picture on the screen. I tried to disconnected all components from power board and results are that when I disconnected Y main board TV started , well at least there was samsung intro sound coming from speakers. Y main board is connected directly with power board and X main board is connected to Y main board. I checked voltages and :

I have the same problem with PS50B430P2WXXU, clicking sound, power supply is bn44-00274b. research on net indicates bad capacitors on this power supply, I have changed around 11 capacitors which are very close to heat radiators but still no luck. I took TV back today to its owner and I find that they are using old satellite box which is showing picture in letterbox aspect with two bars on top and bottom of the screen. This explains problem I had. Apparently box was connected since first day.
Anyway thank you all for help with problem.
If someone is interested, I have 3 x faulty power suppliers plus A board for this tv and I am willing to send them only for postage fee.Leave a comment:
