Samsung un65f6400afxza nothing but vertical bars

Picked this one up for free. The guy said it had a bad motherboard that would cost $3,000. Took it anyways hoping he didn't know what he was talking about. Would love to use it since our TV recently died (another post for another time).
When a device is plugged into HDMI 1 the whole screen gets bright with various colored vertical bars across the entire screen. No image shown beneath or on top of bars. When no device is plugged in screen is black except for a 1 foot wide vertical bar center screen. I don't have the remote and when I press the joystick control on the rear bottom right side nothing noticeable happens. Also not getting any sound. If there's a power light that flashes a code I'm not seeing that anywhere on the set. Hopefully the picture posted and helps one of you help me. Thanks in advance.

the lines could possibly be bad panel or bad tcon/cables, or a hundred other things, open the back up take some pics and post them
reseat all tcon cables, unplug the left side of tcon and turn tv on, do same with right side to see if screen corrects itself might even be the mainboard cpu

im learning here just like you so im sure someone will be able to better answer your questions, but in the meantime investigate tcon

Odgaf, Thank you for the suggestions. Not sure what the main board CPU looks like or where it's located. All of the boards seem fine. Everything is seated correctly. Adjusting the ribbons doesn't fix the problem. Unhooking the t-con ribbon causes the whole screen to go blue in color. I took more detailed pictures (perhaps too many).

Did you do as instructed ? Remove ONE ribbon from the bottom of the tcon at a time and power the set to report what each pic looks like.

          Samsung UE55JU6800K half screen dark
          by Chrissygizmo
Hello everyone, I’ve just been given a Samsung UE55JU6800K smart tv as it had white spots on the screen due to the led lenses falling off. After refitting them & putting the tv back together I thought it was a nice easy fix for a free bedroom tv , then I tried it before screwing the back into place. I realised that the right side of the screen was darker than the other side, I removed the screen again as I thought the backlights had failed but they are fine.
I put the screen back in place & turned it back on . The screen seemed to be ok again but different screens on the same...

Sony 8K XBR-75Z8H White Screen Vertical Bars Tcon Code. Help Needed🙏
          by Daren87
          Hello everyone,

I've recently been given a Sony 8k Z8H. It's got a white screen with two vertical black bars. At times it's given me the 5 blink Tcon code. Testing voltage on the Tcon I can see some low or missing voltage. I've done a basic visual check of cables and the COF. Not seeing anything obvious. The original Tcon seemed to have good caps until turning it over. On the bottom I found maybe 10 caps with both sides of the caps shorting to ground. I thought ok these caps and likely other components on the Tcon are shorted so let's try a replacement Tcon. I just received the...

          Screen Display Vertical Multicolor Lines
          by Stanley1843
Hello, I have a screen in where sometimes when I open it pop-up vertical multicolor lines (I would say the most of them are green). If I tun off and turn on the screen the lines dissapear or if I leave open the screen after approximately five minutes the lines gone. I measured the below voltages on the main PCB and on the T-CON board and the voltages are the same when it doesn’t display the vertical lines and when it displays the vertical lines. Also, I cleaned all the connectors very good with IPA. I moved back and forth the connectors and the COF tabs but the vertical lines didn't displayed...

samsung galaxy ao2s very temperamental after screen replaced
          by Chrissygizmo
Hi , I've recently replaced the screen in my Samsung galaxy ao2s, at first it wouldn't even turn on, it had the charging symbol on the screen when plugged in but the green circle wasn't going around to show it charging....
Ive eventually managed to get it on and working but it's very temperamental...

The battery icon always reads as 50% , when the phone goes into lock screen mode i sometimes can't get the screen back on unless I plug the charger in to get it to light up, also it keeps putting the camera app on.. u think it could be something to do with the side buttons. ...

Samsung LE32C530F1W with vertical lines on Screen
          by Kambi13
Hello all, I'm dealing with a Samsung LE32C530F1W that now has vertical lines on the right side. It started with a ghost image on the top of the screen and then I tried the old trick of masking a few contacts in the flat cable that connects the T-Con board to the screen with some tape. It worked for a while and now out of the blue it turned into what you can see in the pic. I was able to get my hands on a known good T-Con board but the problem still persists. Now, what I've noticed is that the cooper colored flat cables that are directly connected to the screen itself are very hot to the touch...
