    TH-46PZ85U Screen Failure

I know this is a common problem most people have with these TVs and I have reviewed many posts about them, but the vast majority of people are having blinking red lights, but mine is solid. And in all of my researching and hunting around, I can't seem to find anything other than possibly A board, D board, main power board, or POSSIBLE sub power board. Looking to narrow that down a bit. When I power the TV on, the red light comes on and stays lit(no blinking) and the backlight also comes on. But that's it. Nothing can be seen or heard, no menu, no input selected, nada, just the backlight. When I open the back of the TV up, I have 1 green LED on the SS board, 1 green LED on the SC board, and the 'digital audio out' on the A board has a red light in it, but no other lights. No noticeable arc-burns(unless I've overlooked it and I haven't removed the A board to check the D board yet). Fans come on, I hear the relays clicking. When I disconnect the A5, A6, and A7 connectors on the A board, I get a solid white screen. I'm assuming this is either the A board or the D board, but as said before, I saw someone commenting on another post on AVSforums saying this means power supple board, but unsure which route to try first. I picked the TV up from a woman whose house I painted and she just wanted it gone. Any help in direction would be appreciated.

Also, it looks like what appears to be a bulb on the sub power board is present but not lit up like the leds and is defintely larger.. is this supposed to light up? I can attach pictures if anyone needs to see them, just have to attach them from my phone. No test tools at the moment, but I can pick something up if needed. Thanks everyone in advance!

Check the LVDS cable is well seated. This sounds more like an A board fault.

at the risk of sounding like an uninformed 'tard... Which one is the LVDS cable.. Which boards does it connect between.

Common issue with these main boards is the hdmi ic chip. When shorted it will cause the panel to prime (backlight) but no picture. You will need to replace the ic chip or send it off for repair. Many repair services on eBay for this fault. Hope this helps.

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

Hey guys I've got a MSI GS66 Stealth 11ue-007us Board Number MS-16V41 VER.1 with a broken screen connector on the motherboard.I was wondering how I would go about finding a exact replacement for it.I can't seem to find any schematics that would help me so I'm kinda stumped.I did buy a screen connector that I thought was close enough but it doesn't really invoke much confidence in me that it works perfectly as plugging the screen into sometimes does output a "glitchy" image for just a few seconds. So now I'm kinda in a cross road where I'm pretty sure it could be a faulty screen but I...

Hi everyone, newcomer in this forum, i watched tons of video from Sorin, i like the way i calmly explain things, i did quite some console repair, i am not that bad at micro-soldering, but troubleshooting where the issue is, is definitely where i still have progress to make. Usually i was able to fix the console because the failure was obvious, or because i was able to find someone with similar measures on the board and was pinpointing what to replace that way.
Nevertheless, let's say, i don't come as a total beginner.
I have this old laptop, which suit perfectly my needs, with the...

            Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

Samsung UN65js8500F, no sound, blank screen and T-Con board with one LED on
            by mrtek
Hi I am new to this kind of repairs but I want to learn..I have a Samsung UN65JS8500F. the TV used to work and I tried to fix darker areas in the middle only ( img 1,2,3). I thought the led strip were bad..not the case. I did not research in advance what kind and where the LED were located. In this model they are located vertically on right and left side. Took the TV apart and put it back together. Now the tv shows no welcome screen and no sound is available thru the speakers. ..just a black screen..Backlight LED do turn on...also noticed a 5 blink code , not sure if that was there before. I can...
