    Re: Panasonic TCP50S1

I think I am with you so far. But, if I could go back to #7 post "remove the power cable and the SC20 cable from the SC board". By power cable, you are speaking of the SO cord that plugs in to the receptacle, correct ? As in, remove the power source from the line filter. That I have done. Then, " Measure for short on the white prong connector of the SC board". Just to be clear. Is this the tiny white prong connector at the bottom left corner of the SC board. And am I checking between the prongs ?

Ok my bad. You need to remove all the cables from the sc board and remove the buffer boards from the sc board so that they dont touch eachother. So that there is only the sc board left , then measure for short on the sc2 prong connector in diode/beep mode. Beep is bad.

With the SC board isolated, no beep across the SC2 prongs.

From this point, should I go back to post #16 ? Buffers isolated from the sc board. Jumper on SC50. I assume I am to replace the power supply connection to the SC board at this point. And check to see if the set comes on. But, I'm gonna wait for a confirmation.

Ok that looks promising but still sc board can be the problem.

Yes keep the buffer boards where they are and reconnect both cables to the sc board.
Apply the hd jumper or short the 2 pins and turn on the tv md see if it stays on.

I forgot to place the jumper when I tested it. Placed the jumper on and the set didn't come on, but it didn't pop either. Now it's 6 blinks instead of seven.

Loud bang? Thats definitely not good. You sure the buffers don't touch the SC board?

Do the following: Remove the sc board from the tv and see if you notice any burn marks like transistors that got blown.
On the SC board you will find markings with Q and D. The parts with Q , for example Q401 & Q401 are fets and you can measure them in diode/beep mode. Measure the outer pins and see if you hear a beep , if so ...beep is bad! ( markings are also on the back of the board , makes measurement easier ).

The parts with D in front of it are diodes. You need to put the black prope on the middle pin and the red on one of the outer legs , again beep is bad. ( Can give short in circuit ).

Tells us what you are measuring.

Ps if you find a short on the SC board , try to find out if the SS board is still ok by measuring the parts.

There is a repair kit on Ebay but a lot of components. Maybe refurbished SC board?

Wasn't a loud bang. Just a little pop. Not quite as loud as a hand clap. Like a static discharge. And that was without the jumper on sc50. With the jumper on sc50, no pop. vent fans start and immediately stop. I will now remove the SC board and inspect it.

Running the SC board without the jumper is ok , it would simply shut down with 7 blinks.

The orange ribbon cables can be removed by pulling the black latch out ( pull it a little out of the socket , latch cant be removed ).
The orange ribbon cable can now be removed , its hooked with 2 small tabs. Can be stuck because of aging and heat.

Your SC board is bad , try to repair it with a repair kit on Ebay or buy a repaired board......

And upon further inspection, I noticed this. I wonder if this happened before or after the jumper incident.

This probably happend both times. You heard a pop which resulted in a 7 blink error. Maybe it took another hit when you used the jumper. With the jumper you tell the tv to turn on without the buffer boards. My guess is that the voltage finished the rest what was already "dead".

Its best to remove the buffer boards completely from the tv and test them as in this video:

Hello! yes I know there is already lots of information about this issue. I have a Panasonic TC-P55ST50 that originally displayed an 8-blink error code. Following the troubleshooting flowchart, I ended up replacing the SS board. However, even after replacing it, the issue persists. The TV turns on and stays on without displaying an image, and continuity is confirmed on all connectors. What am I missing hereπŸ€”?

I have tried to remove BIOS supervisor password from Panasonic Toughbook CF-33 mk1. Model number CF-33AENABTG, unfortunately I don't have any other info.

I read the BIOS using afuwin, edited it and tried to flash new edited BIOS using afuwin. Unsuccessfully. Afuwin showed "Error: Problem erasing flash." starting with 0x00040000 and stoped. Then I tried many other options to flash BIOS from Windows without any luck. Finally i rebooted the device - and no post. Afterwards I have read the corrupted bios chip (MX25L12873F) using EZP2010 programmer....

Panasonic part number in service manuals
                                    by Yanleb
In the Panasonic service manuals, both in the board schematics and in the part listing, the part numbers that are given are Panasonic part numbers instead of the actual part numbers.

This is especially annoying for small SMD components like diodes and transistors when you only have 1-3 digits printed on the component body.

For an example, look at the attached PDF.

Do you have a way to cross reference the Panasonic part number with the actual part number?

                                    Thanks....
